The smug little intern had his head cocked just slightly, eyes darting between us like this was his favorite drama. I lowered my voice to a whisper, lacing it with venom only Hannah could hear. “This is just the beginning. There is no winner yet. I’m going to have Lucas. And I’m going to have the inheritance. Because I’m the one worthy of it. I’m the first daughter of the Black family.” Her eyes glinted. She leaned in closer, her breath grazing my cheek as she whispered back, sharp as a blade: “You’re adopted, Lily.” The words echoed down the hallway like a gunshot.

“Do you actually think you can find needles in a dress? I even put glue and itching powder in your dresses. “Who are you to wear the same clothes as me? Just because you’re with the family now doesn’t make you an heiress. You’ll always be beneath me.” Seeing that I wanted to fight back, Casey took out her phone and drew close to my ear. “Don’t even think about telling on me. If you can’t take the heat, get out of the family. The moment I hear a word from you, I’ll leak this video.”

Lizzie POV My name is Lizzie Im Alpha Ford's daughter. Tonight is my eighteenth birthday. Tonight is the night of my first shift. I had been preparing all day for it. I had gotten my nails done and had bought a special dress for the party, then a cute sweater outfit to change into after my first shift. As I was preparing, I started to think about my mother. My mother was killed when I was a child. I was never told why. For weeks, I had been trying to find a picture of her to look at. After she was killed, it was like my father had her erased from the pack archives. She was the Luna of the pack, and from what I was told, she was a very good Luna.

“That corrupt bastard!” Lucian stared at his trembling hands. “I begged him.” “I cried.” “I even threatened to expose him for taking a bribe.” His lips trembled. “He just laughed and told me no one will believe a sixteen-year-old boy over an officer like him “ I slowly covered my mouth. Tears gathering in my eyes. “I… I’m so sorry, Lucian..My sisters and I spent years believing she abandoned us.” My voice trembled seriously as I spoke. “I should’ve known. Aunty Sandra would never do something like that.”

“Do we need to do this?” Lizzie asked her friend for the nth time. They were standing a few feet away from their first destination. The orphanage. And the plan was, that Lizzie and Zephyr would be posing as a couple who wanted to look for their missing child. Lizzie and Zephyr were both minors when Zephyr impregnate Lizzie so their parents took away their child. Now, both of them are looking for him. It was not a great plan but it’s better than nothing, as what Amilia said. And while the two of them are distracting the orphanage staff, Amilia and the Fallen would search for some children’s souls.

She tried every trick in the world before she heard someone exclaiming- “Why does this place look like our lab? And that chap looks so much like our Peter.” She turned her head to watch the screen the ladies were watching and realized that everything was telecasted live. She knew that not only could she not turn the tide, but there was also no room for her in Dorsen anymore. She had inadvertently touched the little prince of the Adalase family. ~*~ Lizzie POV The last thing I remember was a click and a bang before everything went dark and I lost consciousness. What was going on? Where was I? I can't open my eyes or move but I can hear, think and feel. It's as though I'm paralysed. "What's the prognosis?" I hear Dean's voice through my blackness. "Well the bullet narrowly missed Lizzie's organs but caught the spinal cord so she may have some paralysis. We can't be sure how she will heal. Her wolf should help but unfortunately due to the severity of her injuries, Lizzie may never walk again."

I looked for Stewart at every angle but couldn’t see a trace of him. I did notice one of the girls I’d seen at the festival grounds. Her name was Lizzie, and she had long brown hair like me and Cadence and was also about our height. I could see her behind Jamie while Brandon and him were talking, just over his left shoulder, and she seemed to be watching them. I tried jumping back into her head to see if I could figure out why, but it was part of her memories that were scrambled from whatever Holland had done to her. Hannah’s voice in my head gave me pause. “Cass, what are you working on, hon?”

I try not to be offended by the fact that he is ignoring me, but the loneliness is beginning to get to me. “I am Elizabeth Wilks,” I decide to just start talking. “But everyone calls me Liz.” Leaning against the bars, I wait for Dainn to respond, but he doesn’t. So, I decide to keep talking to him until he does. “I am the oldest daughter of Osiris and Willow of the Moonstone Pack,” I keep talking. “Well… I am not technically their oldest child. I was adopted when I was seven. Osiris and Willow took me in and treated me like I was their own.”

I let out and Dash nods walking out of the room. “What do we know about Leia?” Emma asks before I stand a chance to ask Jagger. “I like her,” Jagger says, nodding his head towards Emma, and I roll my eyes. This is not the fucking time to be creating friendship bonds. “Yeah, okay, answer the fucking question before I lose my shit?” I let out and Jagger nods before he spills the beans. “She is connected to the Russians. She is Ivanov’s daughter,” Jagger says and I scratch my forehead as I can feel a headache threatening to appear.
