There's also a vein of post-canon fix-its that I kinda dig, where authors try to reconcile their canon trajectories. It lacks the inherent drama of the herbivore-carnivore thing, so writers have to work harder on the emotional tension, which often leads to quieter, more character-study focused pieces. I was looking for the same thing last month, honestly. The dynamic between those two just begs to be dropped into other universes. The quality varies wildly, from half-finished drafts to these meticulously plotted epics. Tumblr tags can also be a treasure trove, though navigating it is a mess since the search is so bad. What I really want to see is someone throw them into a cyberpunk setting. Their whole social struggle feels like it would translate perfectly to something like 'Cyberpunk 2077,' but I haven't found that yet. Guess I'll have to write it myself.
