Chapter 1 Lena finished her night shift at the coffee shop….she went out through the back door of the cafe, she rubbed her arms on her body feeling the chill of the cold night. The streets were silent as she walked home…she remembers her sisters worries about her going home so late at night and smiled….she gets to the front of her gate and saw him leaning against the wall with a cigarette in the middle of his fingers. “You’re always waiting for me” Lena said softly.

There was one solitary, big book on a low table between them. "The title of the tale is The Binding of Autumn," he began, his voice an entrancing whisper just in harmony with the shriek of the fire. “It's the tale of a harvest god who offers a mortal woman a choice: one night of absolute freedom for one year of unimaginable riches for her people." He didn't move as his eyes met hers. "The consent is the matter at hand. It must be freely bestowed, not coerced, and whispered three times into the skin of his throat." “Do you have any idea what sort of story you're going to be reading me tonight?”

Mandy was at the backseat, watching curiously. I was able to convince him to come home with me so he could explain everything to mum and make her believe I was telling the truth - that I never had s*x and was still a virgin. During the brief time in the car, he explained a little of the story to me. He told me he was a prince in Egypt and the dead lady - Hathor - was his lover. But she committed a crime and came down here to America with his baby and that's the reason he came to look for her. And on reaching here - he finds a whole different story.

Chapter 2 -ZARA- I arrived at Velvet Dominion at exactly 8pm the next night. My legs felt heavy walking down those stairs again. I still had the taste of my own pussy from last night on my mind. Elias’s fingers. The way he made me suck them clean. I needed this money so fucking bad. Rent was paid with last night’s cash but I had nothing left for food or my mother’s medicine. Life always forced me to adjust. When Chinedu fucked my cousin and cleaned out the account, I adjusted by sleeping on Lexi’s couch. When the bank job fired me, I adjusted by selling my clothes. For this reason, I decided to move all then into strange short stories, that is already a storybook of different themes. You can find only the introduction of those books on w******l and no else more. But there you can find some covers I made for those stories and that I can not upload here. The stories of a single chapter will continue to be published, of course. Each volume of Strange short stories will have 3 medium-sized stories and about 10 short stories.

Luyando took in every piece of his being; the dirty sandals on his feet with enough holes in them that defeated the manufacturers original purpose of production, the tone jeans and the oversized sweater with a colour she was convinced could not be traced on the colour wheel. “Every single day….” the ten year old cried harder, no sound, just barrels of tears streaming down her cheeks. “Over here mum!” Luyando heard a boy shout from outside the tent. She turned away from her father to slightly open the tent so she could peep outside. Not far from their tent was a family of three; father, mother and son.

Then, she said, “You know what this sounds like, right?” Amelia narrowed her eyes. “Don’t say it.” Maya grinned. “Enemies to lovers.” Amelia groaned. “Maya, I swear—” “Just saying,” Maya sang. “It’s a classic trope.” “Not our trope,” Amelia shot back. Maya giggled. “We’ll see.” Amelia rolled her eyes. “Anyway,” she said, “enough about him. I have other news.” “Ooh,” Maya said. “Spill.”

ANDREW POV I was laying on my bed with my arm covering my eyes, trying to block out the mid-morning sun that was streaming through the window when my cell phone vibrate on the side, I groaned and rolled to the side, stretching my arm out to reach for it. "Hello," I muttered into the phone "Am I speaking to Andrew Pozo" "Who are you?" I rudely asked "This is Michael Romasanta, I have a job for you, meet me at lake city in an hour and I will explain everything to you.”

“We forgot we have a virgin saint among us.” I stepped back, voice steady despite my racing pulse. “Have you all forgotten that relationships between werewolves and humans are forbidden?” “Pipe down,” someone laughed. “Times have changed. We can sleep with them — just don’t get pregnant. That’s the only real trouble.” The conversation spiraled. “I heard he’s incredible in bed…” “I bet he has a huge cock…” “You can hear the proof if you walk past his chambers at night.” Their giggles filled the corridor. I shook my head and grabbed my basket, hurrying away before I had to listen to any more.

He has just undergone his Shifting when I came and he was the only person to show me kindness. Perhaps that is why I lost my guard, I let myself go those first few months, and I forgot the reason I was here. Lent was a good friend, someone who kept me entertained and cared for me, someone who for a short while, made me forget my pains. My life was nothing but a painful existence but when I was with Lent, he made me laugh, made me forget my worries. I forgot my vendetta and pretended to be a normal girl with normal kitchen duties.
