It was the proposal setup that Eden made for her. I looked at the message and chuckled in resignation. Fine. I could finally let go for good!

But it was still better than taking the bus. "Leah, that grandma just walked passed us," I teased. She exhaled a quiet laugh. I joined her by softly humming their favorite lullaby, a soothing melody that seemed to wrap the room in a tender embrace. The babies responded, their eyes fluttering closed as they succumbed to the comfort of our presence and the rhythmic lull of the song. Shelly's voice soon joined mine, creating a harmonious blend that enveloped the room in tranquility. Time seemed to stand still as the melody wove around us, erasing the worries of the day. The act of singing served not just as a comfort to Carter, Abel, and Aubree, but as a balm to our own hearts. The shared song allowed us to leave the challenges and anxieties behind, if only for a little while.

I carried him as he pointed at the book, mumbling incoherent words in simple Japanese as I chuckled. I laid him on my bed as I looked at the treated bruise on my neck then my eyes trailed to the jacket. I took a whiff of it and blushed as I dropped the jacket and pulled off my shirt and the rest of my clothings afterwards. I took a quick shower and changed to my pajamas before hopping into the bed where I saw a sleepy Ren rubbing his eyes. I laid him on my chest as I sang 'Baa baa black sheep' till he fell asleep while he mumbled "bwack seep" till he snored softly. It didn't take too long before I joined him in his slumber.

“Thank you. Now let’s sing together.” “Maybe, you’re gonna be the one to save me.” I joined her even though I was out of tune. Her voice could calm the stormy sky. And I loved how she did her own version. “You gonna be the one to save me. And after all, you are my Wonderwall.”
