Her eyes looked too big, haunted by a past she couldn't reach. A soft knock on the double doors broke the silence. Lily tensed, pulling the lapels of the robe tighter around her throat. "Come in." The door opened, but it wasn't Gideon. It was Levi. He had discarded his suit jacket and tie. The top two buttons of his crisp white shirt were undone, the sleeves rolled up to his forearms, revealing strong, tan wrists. He carried a leather-bound folder in one hand. Without his formal armor, he looked less like a corporate deity and more like a dangerous man relaxing in his own territory.

Levi was wearing a pastel-pink apron with a bunny print on it. The apron was just a simple piece of fabric, yet on him, it became something strangely contradictory. Levi’s tall frame and broad shoulders stretched the straps taut, clinging to the solid lines of his back and shoulders. His muscular chest bulged beneath the thin fabric, making the apron which should have looked fragile, highlight his powerful build even more.

I marched into the room, past the security who bowed his head to me in respect. That’s more like it. I followed Levi upstairs ignoring the looks we got . We ended up in a corner where my client was seated sipping champagne. He sighted me and his cool smile immediately dropped to a frown. “You could have at least tried to dress for the occasion.” He said looking at my black t-shirt, jean pants and the leather jacket that was in my grip. Levi on the other hand was clad in a simple shirt and pants.

“I’ll be holding you to that promise.” Levi smirks, “I’m a man who keeps his word.” That he is. “I promise you when you hop on; you’ll be begging me to go faster,” “Just don’t go killing us,” I say, observing him when he helps me put my helmet on. He smells so damn good, clean, spicy and salty. I’m almost excited to jump on and inhale to my heart's content. I hate being so short.

Levi assumed that was the name of the young girl from the building and nodded. Levi quickly threw on the extra change of heavy clothes. He was grateful there was a thick pair of jeans, heavy black boots, and a long-sleeve shirt. He couldn’t feel the cold the night was starting to bring, but he knew the clothes would help him blend in so they didn’t create suspicion. Landon came out of the warehouse, keys already clutched between his fingers. “Let’s go.”

Great to see after hours of staring at swatches, nearly making me cross-eyed. His clothes were clearly tailored and fit his body perfectly, making it possible to see his muscles outlined beneath the fabric. He wore sunglasses, and his short copper-colored hair was impeccably styled. His beard was neatly trimmed but kept very short, as if he hadn't shaved for two or three days. "What's your plan for today?" Jayden asked, rolling up his car window. Lea didn't answer right away, but instead looked closely at Jayden. Jayden looks very different today. He wore a light blue long-sleeved shirt, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, wore a dark blue tie that hung low around his neck, combined with black trousers and shiny black leather shoes. With one glance, Lea knew that everything that stuck so snugly on Jayden's athletic body were expensive items from famous brands.

She just stuck out her tongue at me. “I brought my clothes that I’m wearing tonight, so show me what you’re wearing.” I went to the closet and pulled everything out for her to give me her approval on what I wanted to wear.
