Almost like I was about to compete in a pageant. Levi’s text came in about forty minutes later, telling me to meet him by his car. I tugged on my best long socks, and for the first time since I started attending Moondew academy, I slipped into heeled boots. I left my hair down, brushing it until it glossed like ink across my shoulders. By the time I got downstairs, Levi was already waiting for me, leaning against his car like he belonged in some top magazine. Dark pants, white shirt, his leather jacket slung over one shoulder, because for obvious reasons, the dress code was not strict when it came to him.

It was clearly a rare find, something that would cost a fortune to replace. “I’m so sorry,” she repeated, scrambling to gather the broken parts and place them back on the shelf. “I didn’t know you were there, and I just…” Levi’s smile didn’t waver as he folded his arms behind his back, his posture relaxed yet commanding. His green eyes, usually cold and calculating, were warmer now, almost playful. They gleamed against the contrast of his silver hair, which was tousled just enough to be effortlessly stylish. His chiseled jawline and broad shoulders completed the picture, making him look every bit the modern-day Adonis.

“You heard me. We’re done with Chemistry for today. Now we fix you.” “I don’t need fixing.” Aaron’s eyes flicked over him slowly, deliberately, like he was evaluating a problem on a test paper. “You do. Just not in the way you think.” Leon exhaled sharply through his nose and turned away, opening his wardrobe like he needed distance just to breathe. “This is ridiculous.” The wardrobe creaked as he pulled it open. Inside were neatly arranged shirts, folded school uniforms, a few hoodies, and exactly what Aaron meant—safe clothes. Neutral colours. Nothing loud. Nothing noticeable. Nothing that would ever make someone look twice.

He loved being able to think of it as theirs. “Well, how does this look?” Ash asked, holding his arms out to showcase the outfit he had picked out to wear to birthday party that night. Adom checked out his Omega. He loved Ash, but Ash fashion sense was, well, rather lacking if Adom were putting it nicely. Ash had chosen one of his nicer pairs of black jeans and paired it with a plain grey V-neck t-shirt. He was wearing his usual combat boots. He didn’t look bad, by any means, but he also didn’t look as ravishing as Adom would have preferred.

She drank a glass of warm milk to wash her meal down. After her breakfast, she sat for minutes, to allow the food to digest while she battled with her thoughts. What next was she to do? Rising from her chair, she saw Levi striding toward the exit. He wasn't dressed in his uniform but in casual clothing of white sneakers, ash flannel pants, and a white shirt tucked into the pant. The guy could pass for a model. There was a holster on his waist.

They didn't want to upset their Alpha, or supposed Luna. Levi led her into one of the aisles lined with racks of clothes, soft fabric everywhere, flowing, hung neatly by colour and style. It was the clothing section, clearly, and it was stunning. Dresses of all lengths and colors. Tops, pants, skirts, jackets, underwear… there was everything! A young woman, neatly dressed in a tucked-in blue shirt and fitted black pants, approached them. Her posture was straight, and her hands were clasped politely in front of her.

It was Levi. Was this going to be the final act of my show? I guess only I was going to see, huh. Before anything could happen, he grabbed my hand and pulled me toward himself. Then his hand was on my back pushing me up the stairs. Everything had happened so fast but it was in that one second that I finally had a chance to take a look at him. He was wearing a light yellow polo shirt with dress trousers and a light trench coat was draped over his arms. Everything about his outfit radiated wealth, and I knew I was going to mess up everything.

Linden only cares when I wear red. We walked side by side through the mall. Lev moved with a confidence that spoke of wealth. He was born into it so I guess that was why he was like this. He greeted people as though he knew everyone. He belonged in a world where everything came to his feet and they saw him like a god. At a boutique store tucked in the corner of the mall. We began to sort through the racks of clothes and shoes. Lev held up a pair of sunglasses to his face, then another. He turned to me. “What do you think? Makes me look like a drug lord?”

I do not miss the look he gives me before he says those words. Levi’s eyes do a once-over of my current outfit and an obvious look of disdain fills his gaze. My eyes meet at a reflection of myself in one of the store mirrors and a feeling of self-consciousness fills me as I stare at my current outfit. I’m wearing a simple pair of faded jeans and a flower motif blouse. My shoes are simple pumps, flat soles and a simple blueberry color. It’s nothing compared to the elegant-looking heels in here, so Levi’s order and its hidden meaning is clear. “Pick out some nice clothes, Lyra. The ones you currently have on are trash.”

However, I was aware that he would act because Levi was destined to be an Alpha and couldn't possibly succeed in anything else. While Levi put on a pair of black jeans and a shirt, I showered and got ready. Since I had never seen him wear anything other than a luxury suit before he was demoted, it took me a while to get used to the way he looked in casual attire. Levi was not a person who wore jeans and shoes; rather, he was a man of class and expensive stuff.
