And they could still be lurking around, probably waiting to wage war with them again. "I say, let me have a walk first," Manu decided to have a walk around the city first. It's also like a routine check around the place he ruled. He was the Alpha. But he forbade the overly respect he gets whenever he tried to go on a random walk. Did the dog just turn into a human? What fuckery is this?"

I nod slowly to the man’s repetition, and his chuckle echoes as he bends over to collect me from the ground. "Boss, I can carry her." One of the men in black around him offers, but he shakes his head. "She is my dog now." My arms surround his shoulders, accepting his demeaning term of me because if I can survive the night, then I will clutch on to the devil himself. The man smells good, like aftershave and a subtle hint of expensive cologne. His deep chuckle follows when I bury my nose against his chest. “She even smells me like a dog.”

"The man was already being nice. We would've killed it with the first kick already!" Furious, Crewcut shrieked, "How dare you! I'll kill you!" He charged at Frank maniacally but never stood a chance as Frank floored him with a kick, and he could not get up just like his dog! Dropping to a crouch in front of Crewcut, Frank snapped coolly, "Remember—dogs will always be dogs, and they aren't worth a human life! I won't take any issue if you keep your dog in line, but if you don't, it's up to you to take responsibility as its owner!"

I snarled, baring my fangs and feeling the hate and destruction of my wolf sweep up again. “Who are you?!” My claws ruined the tiles. I wasn’t in the joking mood anymore. “Page 247. Does that sound familiar?” I snarled. “What are you talking about?” I snarled, fighting the urge to pounce and tear him to pieces. “Did your father not give you the book? Did you not read it?” My snarling stopped instantly. Page 247 of the Book of the Living Gem? I… I read it. It was about… a guardian that lived in the forest.

His eyes darted away evasively as he stammered, "I… I just thought those dogs were too mild-mannered and wouldn't be intimidating enough, so I took it upon myself to swap them for a few more aggressive ones from the store. I didn't expect this to happen! Benny is my own son, after all!"

I asked, my voice shaking. Steve hesitated before answering, “I believe this is the first tribulation. You have to be intimate with him.
