I had found my way back to my family, and my heart swelled with gratitude for the new chapter that had begun. As I looked ahead, I was filled with hope. The journey to healing and wholeness stretched out before me, and I vowed to cherish every moment, to rebuild my life with authenticity and purpose. For in the depths of darkness, I had found the strength to overcome, and now, I would carry that strength with me into a future that held infinite possibilities. Chapter 14: A Reunion of Hearts

Strip away the family fortune and reputation, and you've got absolutely nothing. Sebastian's mother was imprisoned because of what happened to Mom, and he was banned from joining Hamilton Corporation. Even so, he never lacked food, clothing, or luxuries. The whole living in the "housekeepers' quarters" story was just his own sob story. His actual room was only slightly smaller than mine. In my previous life, he lived quite lavishly after he went abroad with no one to supervise him. I was curious to see what would happen to him in this lifetime.

The way she told me once that I deserved a life bigger than survival. That chapter was closed. Burned. Buried under too many consequences. I exhaled slowly and let my hand drift down to my stomach, instinctive and protective. A new chapter was growing beneath my palm. Not built on empires, not negotiated between men and not auctioned. Just… life. Tiny and unaware. Mine. The melancholy didn’t disappear, but it shifted. It softened around the edges. “I don’t know what I’m doing,” I whispered to the wind. “But I’m trying.”

I say, pulling my shirt on. She huffs and rolls her eyes. “EVERYBODY loves Hope. Sweet, special Hope,” she hisses. “Jealousy doesn’t become you,” I say calmly. “I’m NOT jealous!” she snaps. “Aren’t you? You feel like Hope got a much better life than you did, and that’s probably true, but that doesn’t mean that her life has been easy. Yes, she’s had her family all her life, but you’ve never experienced the judgement of a shifter community not accepting you because of something that was outside of your control.”

"If 'Hope' is an infection, then the Multiverse was already dying of cold. I didn't leak it. I just let the light back in."

I am starting a new chapter of my life today and I hope it brings me nothing that has to do with pain, hurt, and betrayals anymore. I am hoping it will bring me a good life and nothing short of happiness because I deserve happiness.

Dime shouted, catching herself with my name due to the boys being in the apartment now, "Well, what did you expect? He hurt Saph, he destroyed her, and now he thinks he can just move forward without repenting and making up for his actions? No, he can't," I responded as if the boys were listening to our conversation, "Well, I guess you're right," Dime said as she sighed "I hate life," Dime said as she grabbed the remote for the TV "You're preaching to the choir," I responded as I laid my head on the arm of the couch. I got up off the couch to go make lunch for Dime, the boys, and me,

Things were going well for her until their bankruptcy, and after all those years, her biological mother finally returned and tried to reunite with her. “They suck.” Hope muttered to herself and put on her headset so she wouldn’t hear the lies they’re telling the little girl. Living with Daniel, she was able to get enough money to start her life afresh and travel to places she has always wanted to visit. “It feels so good here.” Hope muttered and closed her eyes so she could enjoy the natural air.

Tomorrow, I start the careful, strategic process of reclaiming my life. But tonight, I let myself feel something I haven't felt in two lifetimes: Hope. Not the desperate hope of my first life—the hope that if I sacrificed enough, they'd finally love me. But the cold, clear hope of someone who knows exactly what's coming and has a plan to survive it. I died once already. I won't die again. Not for them. Never again for them.
