Between Worlds

Between Worlds

Maybe, just maybe, her destiny was only beginning. Outside, unseen and silent, shadows moved in the distance. Eyes glimmered, scanning the horizon. The villains from the past were not far behind, and the chase had only just begun. Shadow seen outside the window—villains are tracking her. —END OF CHAPTER 1—

THE REFLECTION GAME

THE REFLECTION GAME

The book and mirror weren’t just cursed—they were anchors for the shadows. She ducked behind a shelf, her breath shallow. She flipped back to the journal’s first page, hoping for something, anything, that could help. Her flashlight flickered back to life, illuminating a small note scrawled in the margin: “To end the game, one must choose the light over the self.” “What does that mean?” she whispered to herself. The shadows moved closer, their whispers growing louder. One figure stepped into the light, its face eerily familiar. It was her reflection, but distorted—its smile too wide, its eyes gleaming with malice.

Apaurushya

Master Bakshi's voiced boomed inside the small room. "Every opaque object has a shadow." Varun was sitting on the floor facing his master. "A dark thing that we see in the presence of light." "You are right! But a little off from a concept. A shadow is basically a combined consequence of both the presence and absence of light. "After the discovery of Chakra, it was observed that Chakra pulls out some laws from a transcendental reality. A shadow's existence occurs from the darkness, whereas we perceive it with the brightness! You will learn more about it as you go on."

Still coming along nicely. The Archie plot has hot a good point. I feel there is more to come with Rain in the story and I like that. It is good to acknowledge the news spread of his accomplishments beating down Archie, but I would shorten the side conversations of the random people.

I'm honestly surprised that this story doesn't have more views and reviews. It's well-written, moves at a relaxing pace and the author did an amazing job with the descriptions. The characters has great depth, personalities that stand out. It is also clean and well-edited.

THE SHADOW OF A LUNA

THE SHADOW OF A LUNA

She was screaming in the fire ball and I could smell burning flesh and I knew that it was actually hurting her but then she raised her arms up and the shadows appeared from behind her and approached me with significant force and knocked me off my feet and I dropped the fireball. I got back up and the shadows were surrounding me and I couldn't see the witch anywhere and I used the wind element to force the shadows to move. They fought against it but I put more power behind it forcing them to move and they retreated. I wasn't scared of them anymore. And now I knew that I could fight the shadows as well. And now they knew that. I wasn't as weak as I was. But now they knew that I had training. I

Forsaking the Shadows

Forsaking the Shadows

I could feel my flesh burning and I winced in pain. “Stop running. You’re only going to suffer more,” he said as he entered the broken door. I ignored what he said and continued climbing up the stairs. It only took me a couple of seconds before I reached the line of tables in the very middle. The entire library was not in total darkness because of the light slipping through the glass windows from the outside. I ran to the east wing and hid behind the tall shelves while catching up my breath. The werewolf’s footsteps echoed in the air.

Being sold To The Highest Bidder

Being sold To The Highest Bidder

Don Julio, determination evident in his voice, declared, "We won't join them. Together, we shall break this curse!" The group tightened their circle, each member drawing strength from the other, their combined energies creating a barrier of light. The shadows, relentless in their pursuit, lunged at the barrier, trying to pierce through. The battle of light and dark raged on, the chamber echoing with a cacophony of ancient laments and present-day resolve. Just as it seemed the shadows might overpower them, the amulet pulsed with a flash of unmatched brilliance, sending a shockwave that pushed back the encroaching darkness.

Saving My Alpha

Saving My Alpha

Chloe was always the life of the party, always full of life, full of energy. But what bothers me more is not the hollowness that I saw from her but the darkness that was now surrounding her. I didn’t see it before but right now I can see it. But the dark shadows that surrounded her right now were nothing like that of Mikey’s. Because Mikey’s shadows have a silvery light surrounding it’s edges. That when Mikey is at ease the light becomes more vivid than the darkness around him. Unlike the one that was surrounding Chloe right now. Because what was surrounding Chloe right now is just pure black.

[Divination by Moonlight 1] Shadows of Destiny

[Divination by Moonlight 1] Shadows of Destiny

Everyone is taught the prophecy in primary school: "In the bygone era, the royals, beacons of luminance, relinquished their celestial radiance to shroud The Darkness, veiling it from their subjects, but only for an ephemeral epoch. For in the weaving of fate, an evil unseen shall unfurl The Darkness anew, a forecast foretold by the lamenting birds departing their ancestral throne." "A great tree, colossal and venerable, rent asunder by an inferno's fury, stands bifurcated—half in desolation, half in verdant resplendence."

Frequently Asked Questions

A friend recommended 'Of Light and Shadow' to me last summer, and I was instantly hooked by its blend of political intrigue and magical realism. The story follows Roshan, a disillusioned royal guard, and Prince Varun, who’s anything but the spoiled heir Roshan expects. Their dynamic starts as a clash of ideals—Roshan’s revolutionary fire versus Varun’s quiet empathy—but evolves into something deeper as they uncover corruption in their kingdom. The world-building is lush, with a magic system tied to emotions, which feels fresh compared to typical elemental tropes.

What really stuck with me were the themes of redemption and how power can distort even the best intentions. There’s a scene where Varun uses his 'useless' healing magic to mend a farmer’s broken plow instead of fighting, which perfectly captures the novel’s heart. It’s not just about flashy battles (though those are thrilling too); it asks whether change is better achieved through force or compassion. I finished it in two sleepless nights—couldn’t put it down.
