Lilly sat curled in the armchair in the library, a blanket over her legs and a dog-eared romance novel resting on her lap. Link was on the floor beside her, a basket of clean laundry at his feet, folding with half his attention while the other half was firmly planted on her legs. Every so often, his fingers would drift from the fabric to graze her calf, as though reminding himself she was there.
“You keep doing that, and this laundry’s never getting folded,” Lilly teased, her smile soft.
