Lily got up from the chair and said, "Hang on!" Skyla's eyes followed Lily who walked away from the table. She walked up to the table adjoining the wall. From the fruit basket, Lily took out a knife and came back to Skyla. Taking Skyla's hand, she placed the knife and said, "You will need this! In case, something comes your way!" Skyla nodded, taking the knife.

“What? No snappy banter? I knew you were bound to be dismayed.” Lily slowly began to circle the werewolf. During her unexpected flight, she’d dropped the dagger that Rhye had given her. Go figure. And while her intuitions bellowed for a chance to rip out her heart, she wasn’t stupid. Now was not the time to take chances. KANE’s POV I look at the girl with my arms folded across my chest. Lily, that is her name. Lilies are supposed to be frail, beautiful and fleeting, but I see an unyielding fire burning behind her hazel eyes and because of this, I know that this is no ordinary lily. This girl is a fighter and no one on the face of the earth will be able to stand in her way until she sees justice served.
