The light coalesced, twisting and contorting into grotesque shapes. “What are those?” Jin muttered. “Shadow beasts,” I breathed, my voice barely audible. These creatures were abominations born of dark magic. They were less… solid… than normal creatures, more like living shadows, incredibly fast and difficult to contain. “Protect Fiona!” Jin roared, his voice echoing through the ruins. He and the other Alphas got into position, forming a protective wall between me even in the circle. But even their combined strength looked fragile against the unsettling forms taking shape before us.

Just as Thiago's fist was about to smash into Leto's throat, a dark shadow suddenly appeared. In an instant, an overwhelming sense of danger washed over Thiago. Without a second thought, he retreated at full speed. Only after pulling back a full ten feet did he finally see that the dark shadow was a seven-star beetle. The beetle was about the size of a thumb. Its entire body was pitch black, but its two eyes glowed with an eerie blue light. However, its body was also covered in a greenish liquid that made one's stomach churn.

But the more I pulled, the more complicated everything became. At midnight, my phone buzzed again. *“The mirror shows what’s hidden. Look closer.”* I glanced at my reflection in the windowpane. The woman staring back at me was pale and exhausted, but her eyes burned with a quiet determination. Slowly, I moved closer, finger trailing the cold glass. And then I saw it — a flicker, subtle but unmistakable. A shadow moving just behind my reflection, a shape that didn’t belong. My heart skipped. ---

Elena said, pointing. ​The giant monster had wrapped itself around the cooling tower. It looked like a massive, dark snake. It was drinking the electricity straight from the city’s grid. The red eyes of the beast were now hundreds of feet wide, glowing with a terrifying power. ​"We can't get close," I said. "The air is electrified. If we touch those wires, we'll be cooked." ​"Look!" Elena pointed to the ground. ​A group of people was already there. It wasn't Jax's rebels. It was a group of workers in grey jumpsuits. They were holding heavy wrenches and crowbars. They were fighting the shadow-guards with nothing but their bare hands and their tools.

And when his hand was about touching the orbs a faint shadow appeared behind the eyes, formed from the light they gave. The features of the shadow were difficult to discern, but there was one thing that wasn’t – a crown. For there was a beautiful red crown gracing the head of this shadow. Seeing Mane’s action, the shadow displayed great impatience and said,
