The deeper they ventured, the more alive the library became. The room breathed. Every whispered discussion. Every turning page. Every scratching quill. Every careful footstep between the shelves. Together they formed a rhythm so gentle Adelaide found herself unconsciously slowing her own breathing to match it. Arkael glanced towards a towering collection bound entirely in dark green leather. I got into my car, drove carefully toward the local book store, they had the new book reserved for me. It was supposed to one quick drive, until I walked into the library. A girl was sitting on a bean bag, her blond hair was covering her eyes with overgrown bangs, she tried to huff them away from her face but to no use. She looked young, maybe she's just here with her parents, looking down at the book she had in her hands it was a kids story. Does she read for the local kids? Or is it just for her?

Behind the panel was a small space, just big enough to hide something. Inside was a single book. It didn’t look like any of the other books in the library. Its cover was dark, almost black, and made of old leather that looked like cracked bark from a tree. The corners were worn down, and it had no title. Just a symbol. A silver moon. It shimmered faintly, even though the light in the library was dim.

Maybe this could be the start of a new era. I was dragged out of my daydreaming when I saw an old leather book tucked into one of the shelves. Despite (or maybe because of) its one-word title, it caught my eye immediately. There it was, in black and white: SAMUEL I grabbed it off the shelf immediately and tucked it under my arm. Another few steps revealed a reading chair with a lantern expertly angled to give the perfect amount of light. Deep down, I wondered if the library was somehow alive, anticipating my needs. I decided that was a mulling over for another day.

Somehow I ended up climbing stairs and reached the third floor and here I pushed open a random door and ended up in the library. Just great. This is where more sheep come to hide from the popular sheep! But it was almost empty except for the huge rows of shelves filled with early book editions that would make the National Library jealous. There were so many books and many of them were leather-bound. Somehow the architect had made the library like a big sphere and the center isle cut it into two halves and that diameter led to the librarian’s desk. She walked alongside the stacks and started reading the types of books that were included in this library. She found there were books of all the creatures in the land. There were books about caster magic, human magic, the magic animals, the bitten, the history of the bitten and many many many other books.
