It squealed a tiny squeak before flying around him. Transparent mushroom caps appeared around it, showering Jai with countless shiitake and elephant ears mushrooms. “Jai the thunder human! (Migumi’s POV) I kneel in the soft earth, a piece of cloth spread on the ground. I’m currently picking wild mushrooms from the base of an old oak tree. Their caps are smooth and damp, a deep brown that tells me they’re safe to eat. The fox that slept with me last night was already gone when I woke up this morning. It honestly made me sad. The fox was a great silent companion. It gave me comfort for a short while. But I guess nothing stays forever. I try to push the feeling aside, focusing instead on gathering enough mushrooms to cook.
