How to Avoid Death on a Daily Basis

I’d have gladly walked into its yawning gullet at that moment. “It’s a very interesting book, Doon,” continued Maurice. “It’s the story of Muad’Dib, the mouse that hides from the sun and travels in the cool night.” “Sounds a bit boring,” said Flossie. “Do you think we could delay this week’s Book Club until we get out of this mess?” I requested in my most reasonable voice. Stay calm, wait for first light, and then make our way back to the lake, possibly to drown myself and get it all over with. “Just keep quiet and don’t make any sudden movements.”

I nodded. As they stepped into the room, a delicious smell filled the hut, watering my mouth. A large bowl of mushroom stew swished with everyone of their step, brewing the delicious aroma into the air. They sat at my side and handed me the bowl and spoon. "Grove made stew. Picked the mushrooms myself!" A hint of pride colored their voice as they spoke, the same glint sparking in their green eyes

I Don't Remember Loving You, Alpha

I Don't Remember Loving You, Alpha

I still had second thoughts about letting someone else do my work, but I didn’t want her to suffer because of my stubbornness. I sighed and nodded. “I don’t want you to get punished, so I’ll let you handle our breakfast. Anything will do.” “Thank you, Miss Elaine.” Daria beamed with excitement and quickly went to prepare the meal. After a few minutes, she returned with a tray of warm food. “Please enjoy the meal.” She presented it proudly. “This mushroom soup will give you plenty of energy. I would be a perfect way to start the day.” Daria explained that it was their usual breakfast, especially for those who went hunting. she says before pulling a thick black book and walking back towards me. She scans the pages for a bit, and I try to see what she’s seeing, only to find the book written in that same odd alphabet as on the Keep’s door. A small frown suddenly furrows her brow. “Do you remember the color of those mushrooms?” “Blood red with yellow and black pustules,” I say. “It gave me a bad feeling the second I saw them.”

Ugh.. such a wonderful story but so, so heartbreaking.. this one definitely rendered me speechless at the end, after an already emotional roller coaster throughout. So well written, though! As always, amazing job author. Excited to see what’s to come!

’ look. “Otherwise, you would have been murdered 3 weeks ago.” “3 weeks ago?” Lara shrieked but her attention was distracted by heart shaped mushroom “Look” Lara pointed at the mushroom as she dismounted. Ed followed. Ed and Lara kneeled close to mushroom as they studied it. “Looks man-made” Ed mused while Lara pulled the mushroom. BOOM! The mushroom exploded with a loud bang. Dirt squirted on Ed and Lara’s faces. “Pfffttttt” Lara wiped her mouth spitting furiously as though there was mud in her mouth.

This was very well written. No unnecessary and prolonged details. I think my only wish would be an epilogue that contained some more details wrapping up a few things about what happens in the future. I loved this book. I really did.

The Luna Queen's Rebirth

The Luna Queen's Rebirth

And the truth was, I was running out of options. If help didn’t come soon—and it might not—I needed my body working well enough to keep looking for a way out of here. I grimaced, gagging, but forced myself to swallow despite everything I knew about strange, foul-tasting mushrooms.

I commented on the last page of the story before it ended. After I submitted the comment, it put me back to chapter 1. The story was the Luna’s rebirth. How do I get back to where it was being serialized?
