My straight ebony-black with strips of silver has completely turned into wavy silver with strips of gold and is reaching my waistline.

Silver thinned her lips, glaring at him. "You'll find the clue in the library." He said and quickened his steps out of the library. Elizabeth deflated, "It's going to take days." She raked her gaze at the ranks, bookcases, touching the ceiling. "Let's start," Silver said, extending her feet at the nearby bookcase and pulling the random book. "How will I get there?" I asked, looking up at the bookcases touching the ceiling. Elizabeth swirled her finger in the air, a blue sparkle shimmered around her hand. The book began to float in the air to the giant table.

I asked to fill in the silence. “I have my own library references, which are only a few, if you remember from when you first got here.” I nodded, noting that Amyra was actively listening to us and her knitting sat on her lap while she rocked. “I’m going to go through Gabriel’s library with a little spell that will pull me to any book that mentions silver hair or eyes.” “That’s a fabulous idea. His library is the size of a wing in a public library building.” “Seriously, and I bet he’s never read any of it.”

Every conversation died instantly. Elder Myrien approached the podium with a tablet in one hand and a weathered scroll in the other—the scroll drawing whispers from older wolves. No one touched those unless it was serious. “Tonight,” Myrien said, voice amplified through hidden speakers, “we reopen the Prophecy of the Silver Veil.”

I had to help him. The next morning, I returned to the library early, hoping to get answers before anyone else arrived. Miss Elsie was already there, sorting a pile of books by the front desk. From the outside, he looked calm—leaning back in his chair, one arm resting lazily on an open book as if he were studying. But his sharp silver eyes were not on the book. They were scanning the shelves. One by one, he pulled out old scrolls, pretending to skim them while his mind worked fast.
