A voice note. Forty one seconds. She stood in the empty gym and looked at it and thought about the last voice note, the one she had listened to twice and filed under not important, which had not been not important, and she thought about *because I wanted to see if that was actually true* and she thought about three words written in a margin and crossed out but not erased. She pressed play. His voice came through the speaker, quiet and without performance, and she stood very still in the empty gym and listened to all forty one seconds, and when it ended she stood for a moment longer in the silence that followed.

Alexa P.O.V The first time I took the tests with the girls it came back positive, but I still couldn't believe it so I am back.
