She clears her throat and says, “Elvira just came to tell me a maid is missing. I went to review camera footage with her, and sure enough, there’s a recording of her walking out the side door not long ago.”
“What?” I turn and look at her, folding my arms. As forlorn as Dez is, he is doing the same thing, his brow wrinkled in confusion.
Mom is nodding. “She’s dressed in men’s clothes, but I’m sure it’s her, and there are reports coming in from the Omegas on duty over by the southern border as well.”
