JESSICA’S POV He slipped to a standstill where the tunnel branched into three narrow, it looked like ink-black holes from afar. He sat me down on a flat slab of stone, but the moment my feet touched the ground, my knees buckled. I hit the mud with a wet thud, the cold seeping through the silk to my skin. The pain in my back worsened , a rhythmic stabbing that made my vision blur. "The curse," Jax hissed, his voice turned into a deep growl. “It’s spreading rapidly again.”

he commanded. ​We scrambled deeper into the dark. The passage opened into a vaulted chamber that looked like a forgotten cathedral. Massive stone pillars held up the weight of the library above, and in the center of the room was a circular stone well—the "Well Jump" point that connected the 2026 world to the origins of the curse. ​Julian stopped at the edge of the well. He looked down into the black water, his reflection shimmering with an unnatural light. ​"This is where it began," he said, his voice dropping into a hollow register. "Life Zero. You made a deal to save me from a plague, didn't you, Elowen? You gave the demon our future so I could have a present."

I’m anticipating the moon reaching the centre of the sky, even though I’m aware of what unleashes the curse. “What’s more dangerous, the curse, or him?” She laughs softly to herself, although there’s an edge to it. “Depends how spiteful he is toward the Alpha and the Pack who spelled him in the ground in the first place.” Thumbing through the pages, she doesn’t look up at me. “The Pack we are part of, by the way,” she adds. “I’d be pissed.” The merciful thing would have been to kill him, although Hazel suggests it’s almost impossible. Plus, Alpha’s are spiteful, arrogant creatures.

And no one have ever not known what does it even mean! I was about to retort when Zack's voice cut through the tension. He walked in, bathed in a glaring red light.

JERRY’S POV __________________________________ I’m crouched in the tunnel’s damp shadows, water dripping onto my neck, the air thick with mold and blood. My hand clutches the bloodstone shard in my pocket, its pulse like a fist slamming my chest. The voices—run, fight, claim the blood—scream in my head, and my eyes glow red, the alpha curse clawing at me. I’m Jerry, sixteen and lost, my heart racing after Sasha’s comms cut off with a scream down here. Morgana, the Lykaon cult’s witch, is messing with us, her spell making the fake shard pulse, and I’m terrified for Sasha, for Mom, who’s awake now, changed by the bite. I need to find Sasha before Morgana’s traps get her.
