Logan's partner? I watched for a few minutes, trying to formulate a plan. Three against one wasn't great odds, especially with Silas incapacitated. I could probably take Angela despite her being a shifted wolf—pregnancy would slow her down. The human wouldn't be a problem. Logan was the wild card. His unnatural speed during the attack suggested he wasn't a normal wolf, but he didn't look like the hybrids either. Fuck it. No plan was going to make this easier. I'd just have to improvise.

He kissed the mating mark on my neck—his teeth brushing the skin like a promise. "And I’d burn the world for you." I turned to face him, one arm cradling my tender ribs, the other brushing his stubbled jaw. "You already did." Link Logan’s scent was changing. Every day. New notes layered beneath his natural musk. Cedar. Smoke. Lightning. I caught it again when I leaned over to pick him up from the bassinet. His little fist curled around my thumb. Tiny. Fragile. But my wolf howled at the touch.

It was mean of me, I knew that, but it was just so… unexpected. Logan sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose exasperatedly. “I know. How I can be a werewolf and still be terrified of dogs. But it’s different, okay?” I cocked my head, genuinely intrigued. “Different how?” Logan was silent for a few moments, clearly debating whether or not to say anything before he finally let out a deep breath and met my eyes. “It’s the little ones that I’m especially afraid of.”

Sat in the middle was Logan, as his small black wolf, his purple eyes gazing up at me. They scream when they see me and I lower Kendra to the ground, steadying her as she looked at me. Many of the people down here did not recognise me for who I was and continued to scream, it is only as Logan shifts to his human form and runs towards me that they fall silent. “Mommy, I help.” I shake my head, connecting to him through his link. “You have to stay here, if anyone bad comes, use your control, stop them!”

Evelyn growled, “over your body.” “Still so dramatic. You know you can’t stop this, Evelyn. The city belongs to the wolves now. And you… were meant to lead them.” “I was never yours.” Rhodes signaled the guards. Two stepped forward. Before they reached her, something slammed into the side of the den — Logan. He tore through the glass wall like a force of nature, claws out, eyes glowing like a wildfire in human skin. Behind him, Mason followed, gun in one hand, silver blade in the other.

The needle hissed through the air like a snake. WHOOSH. A massive shadow blocked the gray sky. A roar that sounded like a thousand thunderstorms ripped through the air. Before the needle could touch my skin, a giant silver wolf slammed into the Alpha Scout's hand. It was Logan Frost. He wasn't the tired, wounded man from the shop. He was huge, his fur glowing with a wild, silver light. His teeth were like jagged glass, and his yellow eyes were burning with a hunger for revenge. Logan snapped his jaws, biting the top off the Alpha Scout’s thumb. Evelyn let out a shriek as she tumbled backward, the green needle falling from her hand and shattering on the paper ground.

I scream as the wolf slams into me, my breath knocked out of me as I hit the hard ground. The rock in hand, I swing at the wolf as it snaps its jaw inches from my face. Unfortunately, the rock falls from my hand, and just as its jaws snap shut around my arm, it's ripped away from me and thrown into a nearby tree before it does any serious damage. Logan's wolf lets out a threatening growl as he lunges at the other rogue wolf. He takes it down easily and comes back to me, shifting back to human form.

I hissed back, watching the man’s pitch-black eyes narrow angrily at me. “Is that a threat? Michael Gotham?” Wolverine Silver whispered so quietly that I almost wasn't sure he had spoken. Icy shards of glass slithered down my back to freeze over at the base of my spine. Of all the wolves at the table, it was Wolverine Silver I was most worried about. He had gotten his name because he was somehow immune to silver. Wolverine was a shredded beast on the battle field who could withstand silver attacks even better than us Alphas. We needed him on our side.

She was, like all earthlings, as important as an ant. "Savage? You think we're savages? Well, okay. I'll be savage and cut you into pieces!" Logan roared. His eyes blazed with tri-colored flames. He was not afraid of his enemies. Instead, he laughed and unleashed powerful thunder. Lord Orbitus bled from his orifice. The attack had wounded him and destroyed his Spiritool. "You'll regret this!" Logan was already clashing with a few others. His Marshall Punches flew across the air and clashed with Lord Aether's Spriritool. Then, Logan manifested three different weapons to clash with another celestial's whip.

Werewolves have better genes and accelerated regeneration, but specific injuries require time and drugs to heal fully. "Because you care about them," Logan revealed as he walked closer to the glass, showing me his now-healing side covered in blisters and ointment. "It's a message that he's afraid of you. You're a threat to him, and that's why he needs to show you what you stand to lose if you insist on going against him using Luna's Law. He is too afraid to face you, so he will harm the innocent who you hold dear." He looked at me with his warm gray eyes and smiled gently.
