Forgotten Embers

Forgotten Embers

Prologue II: Pyre, 3113 Pyre Av 5, 3113 Stephan Caliphus, King Everything was on fire the night he finished the book in the back room of a borrowed house. He laid his glasses down on the desk in front of him and rubbed his tired eyes. The crackling of flames could be heard as the city burned all around them. The blood curdling screams of the men in the streets where they died was enough to make the blood of the fiercest warrior run cold, but he was a man of empathy and it hurt him more than it did the others.

After that, there was nothing written in that tiny old worn out book making Scarlet even more pissed because , this was leading her to her origin and here all the other pages were blank. She had cursed the book writer because he/she hadn’t provided other details further which would help her to know more. But suddenly , she read the last line again and felt dumbstruck…. The King's Brightest Star

The King's Brightest Star

“Yes, I was born, brought up, and trained in space. I was manning peace treaties in ships. My dad is an admiral and my mother was a jumper.” How fascinating. “What year are you from?” Ellis gasped. “Humans travel extensively in space now?” she was delighted at the knowledge. “Yeah, it’s the thirty-first century. Earth is almost unlivable, so we are colonizing different planets. Where are you from? Ancient history?” she asked. “To you, yes!” Ellis said. Logan looked aghast. He edged closer to Ellis. “I don’t like her. She’s mean,” he whispered. Ellis smacked his arm. “She is just like what I was the first time I came here. Stop. She doesn’t know what is happening to her and it's supposed to b

This was such an interesting story! I enjoyed the characters and plot development. A recommended read! One hiccup was that throughout various chapters there was random errors in the names (e.g, Ellis named Bella). It was a bit distracting but not a deal breaker.

Making Past Perfect

Making Past Perfect

“So we’re here—eleven years in the future—and everything we knew is… gone.” They stood in silence, the weight of their realization settling heavily around them. The world they had fought for, the battles they had endured, all of it had been left behind. In its place was an uncertain future, one where their past sacrifices lingered like shadows on the edge of memory. As days turned into weeks, the four of them began to adapt, each in their own way. They found shelter near the abandoned structure they had seen on their first day, a small stone building that offered enough protection from the elements while they learned more about their new world. Slowly, they ventured out, meeting new allies a

A Cold New Year

A Cold New Year

I stuffed the last piece of clothing into the suitcase and snapped it shut, then I looked around the apartment. Having lived here for five years, my presence was everywhere, from the paintings on the walls to the throw pillows on the couch and the plants on the balcony. Now, those very details felt like a cruel joke. I wheeled my suitcase toward the living room and paused to look at the calendar. New Year’s Day was tomorrow. A fresh start and a brand-new year. Without hesitation, I reached for my phone and reserved a seat on the first high-speed train heading to Cedar Hollow, my hometown.

Sitting back heavily and clearly disappointed. “Thomas!” I growled. “ what did you find?” “Ya so there’s hundreds of old ass books in there.” He waved the now half eaten jerky like a wand in the direction he came from. “And I found all these journals.” I began rubbing my index fingers around my temples. Thomas is a good soldier but I have no idea how Aiden puts up with his rambling. “This one…” he said flipping the journal open on the table in front of us, “Miss Evens talks about living in some creepy mansion 500 years ago!”

Reborn with the Promiscuity System: Good Girl No More

"There are all sorts of stupid people in the world. Within our ranks, there are rational people like you who keep their heads and sanity but in order to do that, they diverted their craziness to discovering the secrets and origin of the system. They are the ones who made the theory of five hundred. Through history, they managed to piece out how only every five hundred years would there be several breakouts of huge events centering around wars and all sorts of immoral crimes. Those events were 99.9 percent sparked by our kind." "... If every five hundred years there are one thousand immoral hosts, what happened to those from the previous generations? Fires that swallowed cities whole, storms that tore the land apart, and something darker, something no one wanted to name. “We stopped asking why a long time ago,” I said. “Now, it’s just about surviving.” She frowned, her eyes flicking to the window, where the faint outline of twisted trees loomed against the night. “Doesn’t seem like much of a life.” “It’s not,” I said simply. She sat back down, crossing her legs beneath her. “What year is it, anyway? Do people still keep track of that sort of thing?” I hesitated. “2157. At least, that’s what they say.”
