“Liira has been called Loreen or Lory by humans since she was five, sweetheart,” Leon added.
“I don’t mind if you call me Lory or Liira—I like both. Liira will just take some getting used to,” I quickly chimed in.
“Jackson, why haven’t you marked Liira yet?” Victoria asked bluntly, as if it were a completely normal conversation. To my surprise, no one else seemed startled by the question—only me.
“Lory has needed time to adjust to the world of wolves,” Jackson said, looking away slightly. I watched him, sensing the change in his demeanor.
