The Alpha and Her Destiny
There was a reason my father was the Alpha; he was perceptive and wise.
I frowned a little, taking in the question and closed my eyes. Remembering the cold air, the quietly falling snow. The blood curdling scream that wrenched me from my dreams. I had shot out of the log I was sleeping in, listening, and tasting the air. I heard more screams, the sound of struggle, coming from my left. I ran towards it and had found Janet bleeding and unmoving in the snow. I hadn’t consciously thought to check for the threat, should it have still been around, only getting Janet back to the village.
