Elora's POV The safehouse was almost as comfortable and sophisticated as the Alpha house. I opened my eyes to find myself in a grand bedroom with no windows. The air around me was crisp and dry, the air conditioning system tucked away in a corner. I drew in a breath as the memories of the other day flooded back to me. Yesterday evening went rough. Hazel POV The safe house had become our strange new reality. Days passed in a quiet rhythm that felt both comforting and suffocating. Mom spent long hours in the garden, her hands deep in the rich soil as she coaxed flowers back to life. She said the work reminded her of better times, before Dad left and money became a constant worry. Lucas had claimed the game room as his own, spending hours rebuilding his strength on the expensive equipment. He laughed more now, but the bruises on his face and ribs were still fading reminders of how fragile our safety really was.

We abruptly stop talking as we head inside the house, and we both laugh when we see Lia dancing in her seat, singing to Ava Max’s ‘Sweet but Psycho’ while typing. We turn and look at each other, probably thinking the same: That’s definitely Lia’s song. Heck, it should be her anthem since she is a little psycho. Later that night, I was home, chilling in bed and re-reading the script that I got from Angelo’s pile, but I was also feeling bored, so I decided to text Eva again. 'Hey, what you doing?' Let's see if she actually responds. I go back to my script, and a few minutes later, I got a ping.
