Seeing this, William snatched the letter from her, ripped it apart, and threw the pieces to the ground.
"Enough! I just need you to tell me one thing—Jasmine… i-is she sick?"
Tania met his gaze, her expression unchanged, but a bitter smile tugged at her lips.
"No," she said quietly.
William's heart skipped a beat, and he turned to her with pleading eyes. But then Tania's words felt like a heavy weight, dragging him down into an abyss.
"No, she's not sick. She's dead."
"Dead, you hear me?" she repeated. "Jasmine is dead!"
