The Alpha’s Mistake: Lila’s Rise from Rejection

The Alpha’s Mistake: Lila’s Rise from Rejection

COWRIE He brought me a book the morning after our wedding, something bound in cracked leather, old pages smelling like salt and coal smoke. “It’s from the southern coast,” he said, brushing dust off the spine. “I thought you might like the poems. They’re written in three languages—two I know, one I don’t.” His voice stayed soft, hopeful. I nodded once, took it with both hands, placed it on the windowsill. The wind howled against the glass. I rose, smoothed down the folds of my robe, walked past him without a word, my footsteps slapping against stone.

The Poisoned Cup and The Scapegoat

When I saw the results, I was stunned. The final conclusion was written clearly. [Main component: Vitamin C. No toxic, harmful, or psychoactive substances detected.] Vitamin C? Did Jade not poison Michael? Instantly, I had a million thoughts flying through my mind. In my previous life, Jade did not even drug the wine. She only took a bottle to pretend to do it, making sure I witnessed it. If I caused a scene, she would be able to turn her conflict with Michael into a conflict between Michael and I.

he asked, his voice quieter this time, as if afraid to disturb the peace of the shop. I glanced at him, “I love them,” I said, running my fingers along the spines of the books. “They’re like an escape—a way to step into another world, even if it’s just for a little while.” He nodded, his gaze lingering on me for a moment too long. “I get that,” he said, his voice barely audible. I stopped in front of a section labeled Legends and Lore. The titles immediately caught my eye: The Myths of Moonsdale, The Wolves of the Moonlight, The Moon’s Chosen.

The King’s Chosen Bride

The King’s Chosen Bride

"It's difficult to choose just one. But there is a particular book of poetry that holds a special place in my heart. It speaks of the complexities of the human spirit." Catherine's interest deepened, and she approached him, her gaze fixed on the shelf. "Would you mind sharing it with me?" Shawn reached for the book, gently pulling it out from its place. The cover was worn and aged, a testament to the many times it must have been read in the past. “This is 'Whispers of the Soul' by renowned poet Alexander Sinclair," Shawn said, holding the book delicately in his hands. "His words have a way of touching the deepest parts of one's being, unraveling the mysteries of the human experience."

he asked, taking another sip of his coffee. "A book," was her dry reply, without even looking up. Nic gritted his teeth. "I'm aware of that. What's the title?" he asked, with less patience than before. "How to kill someone you don't like in two days." Nic had to laugh on the inside. She really was a funny piece of work. She still had yet to learn her manners, but she would. He would be damn sure of that. He walked over to her and snatched the book from her hands. Before she could protest, he read the title to himself. '100 Greatest Love Poems of All Time'. He handed the book back to her and walked to the bar area and sipped some more of his coffee.

Ms. York's Second Proposal

Ms. York's Second Proposal

After heading inside, Damon picked out a few thick and boring books that were related to design for Celeste. "Is there anything else that you want?" "Poetry books. I like Edgar Poe, William Blake, and Pablo Neruda," Celeste said suddenly. Perhaps it was because they had just watched a play, Damon felt she was being a little emotional today. Damon's heart fluttered seeing some emotion on her typically cold self. "In the past, I loved reading poetry for the sake of fortune-telling." Celeste grabbed a book by Neruda from the rack and casually flipped through the pages.

I prompted. “I am reading the epic poems by the Fae Sage Yric of Cynraed, most particularly the Paragon of Theodghar and the Deceit of Elovyn.” “Poetry,” I sat back on my heels and regarded him in bemusement. The beautiful golden-haired man was absorbed in reading poetry, or all the unusual things for him to possibly be reading in a dragon’s cave, poetry had not even entered my speculative list. “I did not imagine you would read poetry.”

Leave it to Everleigh to make a person long for their own broody, sexy dragon. Seriously though, I couldn't put this book down. The world this author has created is so vibrant and fun it makes you want to dive in to the pages.
Sarah.
I really loved the book, I wish there were more like it on this app. The characters are charming and the story is beautifully written, the premise makes me want to continue reading the other books. I hope there will be lots more like this one and maybe even longer

I awkwardly request, watching Embry move to stand beside Osric with a large book in his hands as they both smile at me. “You’re craving us in every way even our wolf side. You only have to ask; we want you comfortable. You’re carrying our pups,” Osric soothes gently, looking down at the book Embry holds out for me. “I remember seeing Poe in your room in California,” Embry answers, handing me a beautiful dark brown leather-bound collection of Edgar Allan Poe’s short stories and poems. “I love his stories and poems; my favorite is A Dream,” I mention, before gently paging through the book to find it. While reciting the poem from the book, I look up to see Embry and Osric both chuckling at m.

Accidental Billionaire Love

The smell of old leather-bound books mixed with the faint scent of the underground air, creating a unique atmosphere that felt like a secret garden of stories waiting to be explored. She could hardly contain her enthusiasm as she approached one of the shelves, running her fingers over the spines of the books. Classics, contemporary bestsellers, and hidden literary gems beckoned to her. The titles and authors seemed to come to life, each one a portal to a new world, a new adventure. Ashley pulled out a novel and marveled at the weight of it in her hands, as if she were holding a piece of literary history. She was surrounded by the works of revered authors, stories that had shaped cultures and

he asked without looking up. “What book are you reading?” Pollux turned the cover toward me, his brow raised slightly. I leaned in to read the worn title. *Venus and Adonis*. Shakespeare. Was he serious? “Shakespeare? Really?” I propped my chin up, suppressing a smile. “What’s wrong with that?” “Are you a poet or something?” I teased. “You don’t have to be a poet to read poetry,” he responded, his tone matter-of-fact. He had a point. You didn’t need to belong to something to appreciate it—just like how I didn’t have to be a wolf to love a werewolf. His words hit me deeper than they should have, awakening something inside me that I hadn’t fully acknowledged.
