Luca declared, standing up. "Sit," Alberto commanded, a mix of authority and vulnerability in his voice. Luca reluctantly took his seat again, fixing a brazen gaze upon Alberto. "She will see you, but not yet. Give her some time," Alberto's tone softened. "Can I meet her?" Luca asked eagerly, longing to apologize to Sonia and, later, reveal their shared family. "Sure," Alberto replied, his face reflecting a sense of sadness. Luca's face brightened with a smile.

While I was digging for my own snacks, I grabbed her a juice box and joined her at the table. "Oh, it's for the Luna," she replied. "This is me, the Luna and the Alpha," she'd drawn them holding hands. "And that's you, and that girl is your girl, but I don't know her name yet," she finished, pointing to each person she drew as she announced them.

Matteo was pulled back, still confused but unharmed—for now. Luca turned to me, his eyes a storm of rage and resolve. “It’s not over,” he said, voice low. “It’s just beginning.” I knew then—we had stepped into a war far beyond what I’d feared.

Alpha Leonardo fingers brushed my hair. He whiffed. “This is the perfect idea. Sophia will be grateful for that.” His lips pressed against my forehead. Breaking off, he reached for Vogar, lifting and throwing him over his shoulder. Alpha Leonardo’s fingers locked with mine. We stormed out of the warehouse. The sun had already set. The cold breeze lashed my exposed skin as I entered the car, Lucy had left outside. After Alpha Leonardo was able to identify it among others. “Because your friend… is already dying.” Silence filled the room, broken only by Dante’s shallow, ragged breathing. The healer slowly turned to Luke, eyes narrowed in worry and fascination. “Tell me about the Alpha who did this,” she said quietly. “Who is she and whose child is she?” Luke shook his head helplessly. “I know nothing about her,” he murmured. “I only know… she was a Luna who became an Alpha.” The healer froze, her breath catching in her throat. “A Luna…” she whispered. “Who became an Alpha?”
