Invisible Doctor
Julia asked, lightly brushing her fingertips over Lili’s bandaged knee.
“A little,” Lili admitted. “But it hurts less when you hug me like that. You have pain-relieving powers, did you know?”
Julia laughed softly, proud.
“Well, then I’m going to hug you forever.”
Guillermo leaned toward them and wrapped one arm around both of them.
“We’re a sandwich,” he murmured. “I’m the big piece of bread, Lili is the jam, and you, Juli, are the dulce de leche.”
