Now the fur was gone from my skin, but I was still traumatized. "You should answer when an Alpha asks you," reprimanded Rutherford, and I sighed. "So, she's Luna?" I said, pointing to the annoying girl who was staring at me with disgust. "Prospective Luna," Rutherford corrected, while Ikaros answered with a short 'yes.' "I understand now," I said coldly. So, this guy touched me just for his own pleasure, because he already had that snobbish woman as his partner. "Do you want some bread, perhaps? You look really pale and unhealthy," Rutherford said, ignoring the cold tone in my voice.

I walked downstairs to the living room, where the soft, colorful glow of the television screen cut through the dim evening shadows. Leo was still curled up on the sofa, completely engrossed in the cartoons playing on my iPad. Seeing his innocent, peaceful face instantly grounded me. I walked over quietly and slid onto the velvet cushions beside him. Without a word, I pulled his small, warm body against my chest, cuddling him tightly as I wrapped my arms around his shoulders. He shifted slightly, leaning back into my embrace without taking his eyes off the screen.

Her green eyes roamed over Lydia as she exclaimed, “Oh my God!” Lydia stifled a laugh; she knew her mom would soon comment on her beauty and how she would sweep every male off their feet that evening. It was clear that Lydia resembled her mother, both standing tall and slender, with curves that could captivate anyone. Lydia had inherited Luna Alice's striking green eyes, long tan limbs, pointed nose, and beautifully shaped lips.

Resting upon it was a small, jewel-encrusted chest. Luna approached the chest cautiously, her hands trembling with a mix of excitement and trepidation. She reached out and carefully opened the lid, revealing a shimmering orb pulsating with a soft, soothing light. The relic, known as the Heartstone, radiated an otherworldly energy that seemed to quell the darkness that loomed around them. Gently, Luna picked up the Heartstone, feeling its warmth resonating through her fingertips. She turned to the alpha and Amelia, her eyes filled with determination. "This might be our only chance," she said firmly. "We have to bring the Heartstone close to the creature."

" He says before continuing. "You don't interfere in my business and I won't interfere with yours.. During the duration of our contract you won't be involved with any other man. You will also be the Luna of my pack. In return I will give you my name, my full support and my protection. Liam asked. “Absolutely! Nothing is more relaxing than to cuddle with my baby.” Scarlett pulled Liam into a loving hold and, as she did, she smiled at Kaleb and winked at him. She also gave him a thumbs up, knowing he did a good job that day. “Ahem.” Clearing his throat, Kaleb asked, “Can I… join the cuddling?” Scarlett peeled off Liam and looked at him with beaming eyes. She wanted him to make the decision. With a nod, Liam smiled at Kaleb and agreed, “Of course, daddy.”

Emma suddenly got really shy and made the cutest little whinny sound, hiding behind Lucus. "You are so effing adorable," Lucus cooed. They had finished their ice cream and were about to leave when Emma spotted a cute puppy plush in a toy store window. It instantly reminded her of Lucus. "What are you looking at?" Lucus asked from behind. "It's you!" Emma pointed at the puppy plush. Lucus smiled, then suddenly saw a baby kitten plush right next to the puppy and pointed at it. "And that's you," he said, turning to Emma. He gasped and got closer to the glass. "Oh my god, it's us!" Lucus laughed and then grabbed Emma's hand and entered the store.

It almost makes me feel that my problems would vanish if we stay like this forever. Not one of us said another word, while we stood there wrapped up in each other's arms. The silence was calming. Reassuring me that things will get better as time passes. But the best thing was the silence made me believe that words were overrated between me and Liam. Sometimes all we need is to shut up and let silence speak in the volumes we couldn't. After about ten minutes of hugging we stepped apart, finally looking each other back in the eye. The swirls of emotion going on behind those blue pools of his are filled with blends of sadness, pity, anger and if I'm not mistaken a glint of love.

That night in his room JC was uneasy, tossing and turning. Although the lights were out, his eyes were wide open due to what he thought was jet lag. The sheets smelled new. They felt comfortable on his skin after having been exposed to the tropical climate. In the middle of darkness, he found himself staring at the ceiling. Red and blue lights deflecting from a neon sign came in through the glass window. It was mesmerizing but sleep was long in coming for him.
