I curved my lips, "Thank you for the compliment." Grace lowered her face, hushed her voice, and moved closer to me, stating, "You won't be able to stay complacent for long; you definitely won't become the Luna of the pack." My heart sank, but I didn't let it show on my face. I gazed at Grace indifferently, "Is that so? Whether or not I can become the Luna of the pack doesn't matter to me. However, I derive the most satisfaction from seeing others disappointed. Since you claim that, we'll see. After all, only by becoming the Luna of the pack can I rightfully expel you and make you pay for what you once did."

All the residents of the manor had gathered on the field near the graves that had been dug for the servants that had lost their lives during the rogue attack. The Luna and her family stood at the centre of the crowd with the Priestess who was giving a solemn reading in honour of the dead and in prayer to the Moon Goddess to accept their souls. Grace’s face was covered with a veil so her eyes couldn’t be seen, evidence that she must’ve been crying a lot. I thought back to her outburst yesterday and wondered why the stoic and tough Grace Wilder had been so deeply moved by the deaths of servants.

The worn pages calmed me, the faded ink carrying me into another world. It was a book about wolves’ history. Stories of ancient packs, battles fought under blood moons, legends of the Moon Goddess blessing chosen ones. I loved reading it, even if nobody knew I could read. They never let me go to school, but I had taught myself in secret. The book was my hidden treasure. Through it, I learned things nobody thought I should know. That the Wolf’s Crest had once chosen the strongest Lunas. That the Moon Feast was more than just food and dancing it was power, hidden under rituals. And sometimes, I wondered… if the Moon still watched us, still cared.

She would have fetched a high price for our Uncle. “It saddens me to think what has happened to her parents.” Lugh says to Orla who nods her head at him. “I don’t understand why I’m being spellbound. I don’t know magic, I wouldn’t hurt anyone.” I still didn’t get it. I’m not special. I’m not even strong enough to be a Luna. Brett must have felt my emotions through the bond as he kissed me gently on the lips and whispered. “You are special to me.”

I field a few questions, letting them know that Grace and Summer will be in charge of setting up the cleaning and supply plans for the bunkers and safe rooms. “Next, you all know that your Luna is an Alpha female by birth. Her father banished her when she was 12 because she didn’t have her wolf. While we were at the tournament, your Luna challenged her father over rights to his pack.” There is absolute silence as everyone turns their attention from me to Grace.

Chapter Ninety Nine: The Alpha Celebration — A Luna Presented Ronan’s POV The dawn broke quietly over the pack grounds, but inside me, a storm raged like thunder. Today was the day. The day of the Alpha celebration. The day I was supposed to stand before my pack and claim not just the title, but my place beside my Luna — Selene. But she was nowhere to be found. ⸻ The grand hall was already alive with noise when I entered. The air buzzed with chatter and laughter, the scent of incense and roasted meat thick and heavy.

I placed my hands on his temples again, and welcomed the vision into mine. I saw a woman, Clay’s mother. She was bitten by a vampire. She did not say a word about it, because had she did so, our father would have hunted that vampire . And then, there was the full moon, two babies. I have seen two babies, one boy and one girl. But Clay’s mother was only carrying a single child. The full moon and two babies and then a powerful voice echoing: ‘Two children of the chosen wolves. Destined to be one. The female Luna will be the most powerful of all wolves, her powers will be unparalleled, her domains will be one. She must be protected or else, her powers will be lost and all wolves will pay the co

He was a cute little guy and made me excited for Raina and me to start a family. Raina looked at Gracelyn and gave her a soft smile. “This is actually a topic that Xander and I need to speak about still but I am unable to be his luna just like I was unable to join his pack. My ties are with the Full Moon pack and the only thing that can change that is death.” Gracelyn cocked her head. “So there’s no way you could rescind your title and stay here as Luna?” Raina shook her head. “Not even if I wanted to. While I could be challenged for my crown, my second in line is now Xander so in order for anyone to become king or queen, they’d have to kill us both.”

I counted ten from what I could tell. "As you all know, every one of you is voluntarily competing in the Luna Games for a chance to be mated to Alpha Noah Harvey. The rules are fairly simple. Once the clock strikes midnight, the fight begins. You may fight in your human form or shift into your wolf. Weapons that fit within the specification and guidelines are allowed. If we have determined that you used an illegal weapon to injure or kill another woman, then you will be severely punished. Use the forest to your disposal to escape your enemies. If you exit the pack lands, then you forfeit. Last but not least, the Cardinal Rule. If your opponent surrenders, you are not allowed to engage in com

In other words, he is an incredible character and not someone a small noble family out in the countryside can afford to offend.
