You invoked the sacred Lunar trials, using your right as a member of the ruling family, laying your claim to the throne of Alpha,” he started, the air in the hall turning ceremonial. My gaze remained fixated on the ground as I wanted nothing more than to run away. A part of me even wished for that arrogant alpha to show himself and somehow mess things up. I turned to the side, instantly finding his figure in the crowd, but to my disappointment, he just stood silently, watching everything play out with the cold arrogance of a peak predator.

I nodded and he helped me up before facing the crowd of prisoners, “Let’s get out of here!” “How?” One of the elder maids asked. I found my voice again, “There is an old tunnel that leads right out of the city. We have to run, Darius will send guards as soon as news of this break in reaches him. It was like I jinxed our luck right after I spoke. I could hear the clanking of spears and sound of heavy footsteps approach us, “Find them! They couldn’t have gotten far!” It was Darius’s unmistakable voice. Why was he going that far to make me his Luna?

“The Pack of Malachi is closing in and every moment we waste, we’re losing the ground on.” Selene crossed her arms and leaned against a tree, watching him with those sharp eyes of hers. “We know that already,” she said, “but throwing ourselves into another fight without a plan isn’t going to help Luna or any of us.” Luna was sitting on a log close by, looking at the flickering flames. The relic’s energy was still buzzing in her chest making her aware of the moon’s power and his role as a constant reminder now she can carry it as his legacy.

I couldn’t be more surprised than if they had told me the Easter Bunny is real and his name is Ted. “You already are a Legacy,” Zephyra comments lazily. “You can’t be MADE a Legacy, you are BORN one. You are an Adare. There has always been an Adare in the seven.” “So you are giving me the seat that should be mine?” Lazarus suddenly sits up very straight and looks over at the rest of them.

I am excited that The Lost Luna is almost ready to be published in paperback form through A____n. There will be a completely new cover for the book, and each subsequent book will have it's own cover, although they will be similar and obviously a set. I have been working on a title for the series since it was originally supposed to be a one-off novel, but I am not good at sticking to plan. The series will be called Hidden Legacy.
