My claws—curved and sharp, extending instinctively—pressed into his jugular. The wolf froze. He looked up at me. I shifted my eyes. Let him see the gold. Let him see the truth. "Stand down," I growled. My voice didn't crack. It didn't tremble. It rang through the clearing, clear and resonant, cutting through the tension like a blade. "I am Remy. Luna of Silver Creek. Mate to the man you just mocked. Mother to the cub you threatened." The wolf’s eyes widened. The scent of jasmine and rain hit him, burying the lies he had been fed.

She would be angry, if she wasn’t so hungry. “I’ll give this to you if you want.” Remus began. He stood tall and firm, just like all the other Alphas’ that Leonila met in her lifetime. And just like all of them, she wanted nothing more than to rip his head off his body. Remus seemed to have read her mind. He squishes the bag of blood on his hand, almost to the point of breaking it and spilling everything. A whimper escapes Leonila– what a waste, she thought.

They don’t stop causing trouble even after being expelled from our packs,” said Levi Russo, the lycan Alpha of the Tenebrus Dusk pack. “These rogues are ruining the reputation of lycans in front of the world,” said Christian Dawn Akus, the lycan Alpha of the Akus Dawn pack. “They are just some insignificant rebels. We have more important people to pay attention to,” King Elysar said, then looked at me. “Beta Carys, do you accept the accusations?”

"No one suspects a thing! The little pet here is loyal, quiet, and oh-so-delicious. She is enjoying the luxury life. Sure, she's smart, but I think she turned the smarts off to relax. It's Alexander who's a problem." Remus let out a low growl, shaking his head. "I had thought we would be able to sway him. He does not seem interested in human safety or their general culture. Surely he would earn the peace and quiet he desires oh so much by taking the pesky humans under control with us. Instead, he actively tries to intercept our plans. I assume you have had no luck with him either?"

I didn’t want to have anything to do with him, yet here we are. “Remus? Alpha Remus’s Luna?” His brows shot up briefly, as if considering something. I frowned at his strange behavior, but he schooled his features right before I could begin to question it. “Quite a surprise, Luna. I’ve heard a lot of things about you from your pack,” he commented. “I hope all good things?” I raised a brow myself. What did he mean by that? Who is this guy?

Meanwhile, the Lupin Pack, known for its magic and healers, was led by Alpha Lili Aubert. As for the Lykos Pack, we were known for our political maneuver as well as our economic power. Another aspect we were known for was our strong horde of warriors although our warriors weren't as powerful as the warriors of the Varg Pack. Still, it was enough to show other creatures that we werewolves weren't someone to be messed with.

"Stay calm. Let her speak first." Romulus snorted, his snout wrinkling. "I don't know. She's so tiny. Can't be her." Remus ignored him, leaping closer, his gaze raking over me like he was peeling back my skin. Romulus lumbered after, nearly crashing into him. "Wow," Romulus said, sniffing the air. "She smells delicious." Remus swatted him with a paw, a growl in his throat. "All you think about is food. Don't eat her, you idiot."

Duncan slammed his hand on the table again, breaking off that part of it. " Enough!" He thundered. " Mind your tongue. Or I will mind it for you. You are not my father. And I am not your son. You will never be my father! And I will never be your son!" Alpha Lahey of Ezra said nothing yet. He just watched everything with thoughts going through his mind. Ezra was the second most powerful wolf kingdom, thanks to Azra. Though, Ezra had secured their place through a bargain. " What do you want, Duncan?" Alpha Lahey finally spoke, rubbing his hands together.
