Novel & Cerita Lycan King's Second Chance Mate

At long last, the Moon goddess remembered him and gave him a mate. Scorned and looked down as the mateless Lycan King, I knew my brother had been longing for a Mate. Although he acted all nonchalant about how nothing affected him, I knew deep down he has always been waiting for the day the moon Goddess will bless him with his other half. I reckon that's why he was against the idea of choosing a mate and giving the kingdom a Queen.

I asked the Lycan Wolf and she sighed, "That is exactly what I'm trying to figure out. Why are you in Addy's body?" I bit my lower lip in confusion as I kept trying to connect the scattered puzzle pieces. "Only one person can give an answer to this." She said and I raised a brow. "Who?" "The Pack's oldest witch." I blinked at the discovery, so the Lycans had a witch in their pack? "But, who is Adeline in this pack?" I asked again. "Adeline is the Luna of this pack, Alpha Reign's wife and mate." Another gasp left my lips at those words from her. Of all the people I could have woken up in their body, it had to be the Alpha King's Mate?

Daniel's voice sounded nervous, as if talking about that king made him feel weak. There was a moment of silence, until Willy's voice was heard again. "Yes, the man may be powerful, but he still has his Lycan side, and like everyone else, he has a bond. Besides, his mate is now in the Lycan kingdom, so he knows that any enemy would attack her to control him," said Willy. As soon as I heard that, my eyes widened. The only known blue-blooded Lycan king was Bradley, and his mate is Chloe!

she said, clearing my confusion, only for a moment, before adding, “The Lycan king is your second-chance mate. Just like your first mate rejected you, the same must happen with the king too.” I blinked in total disbelief. Second-chance mate? Malric was my… mate? And he hadn’t told me? A second-chance mate was nothing short of a miracle. The goddess rarely offered such grace. I hadn’t even prayed for it. So why give it to me, only to demand I endure another rejection?

By midday, I was overwhelmed with a series of activities. There were four women teaching me about the Lycaon place and the history of Lycans and how the palace was built. The first Lycan king who had four mates and until the reign of King Cadeyrn-Ruaidhri’s father, every king had at least two mates. The Moon goddess knew that one woman was not enough to satisfy the sexual pleasures of a Lycan king, hence why she gave them more than one. The Lycans are very sexual beings as Scarlett had told me, and I found the information a little bit disturbing.

Her heart hastily raced, and she quickly reached to clutch her pounding chest. Lucian, who was still in fright, stood, his eyes never leaving hers. How long has it been? A hundred and sixty years, and he never thought that he would one day find his mate. He was told it was impossible. He was even deemed unworthy of being the king of the Lycans at some point because he was incapable of having a mate!

I could not grasp what she was saying that easily. Because of all the denial in my system, I could not help but laugh. It sounded so ridiculous! How could it be true? Was the witch playing with me? "It's impossible! The great king already had Queen Axianna back then as his mate... how could he be mated with another woman once again?" That was when Nidhi proceeded with her story. "The truth that most of us didn't know until now was the fact that the last Lycan King was a “Moon Child," and it meant that he was destined to have two mates."

“Even if he's still going to reject you, my mind can't be put at ease” I tried to piece her words together but it was still hard to understand what she was talking about. “What—” “You are the Lycan King’s second chance mate. I overheard your discussion with Maera” My heart dropped. She knows. She found out. Maera finding out when we didn't want anyone to was enough but now, Freya too…. She straightened her back and raised her eyebrows, shrugging her shoulders. “Henceforth, I can't let you live”

“Rest assured, Myra won’t get married to the Lycan King. Unless he forfeits the throne and chooses her over the entire Lycan Kingdom.” Lyka grinned, hearing his words. “That would never happen. I, for one, don’t believe that Myra was mated to the Lycan King. Second chance mates are rare. Merely a myth. And haven’t been seen anywhere. I don’t know what that bitch offered to deceive His Majesty. But too bad it won’t last long.” The other man said nothing at her words, just pondering for a moment. “Well, you might be surprised by his decision. You should go. After all, you’ve been invited. And could serve as a witness. I need you there when the plan is set in motion.”

I asked, and they gave each other some looks before facing me. “Should I leave?” I asked and they quickly shook their heads. “Apologies my lord” one of them said and I scoffed. “We thought, since your former mate is gone, you should try to get another mate and, since you and Miss Naomi seem close, we thought she should be your mate”, one of the elderly said and I leaned back on the chair while they waited in silence to hear my response. I don't have it in mind to make Naomi my Luna, she is just someone that satisfies my sex urge.
