I haven’t told a single soul, and I don’t plan to. Aldric is coming back. “If you need anything, you know what to do,” she says, already walking to the door. “Wait.” She turns. “What’s up, Lyra?” “I was hoping you could send me the books from the library Aldric gave me. Funny, I never even got to open any of them.” “They’re already on the way. They’ll be knocking at your door tomorrow.” She grins. “At least it’ll help me feel closer to him.”

Lyra Helena and I spend three days sorting out the boxes filled with books and as we stand there proud of our handy work, I feel a sense of accomplishment. Not that we’ve accomplished something huge, but we did turn an old storeroom into a small library. We each grab a book and find a seat and I immediately get to work. Sadly, life intervenes and I have to rush off to sort out a problem between two omegas. I have just returned and started reading when Hunter starts to cry, and I have to take care of him.

Darius POV Darius slammed his palm against the stone wall, his chest rising and falling with heavy breaths. The impact sent a dull ache through his arm, but it was nothing compared to the storm raging inside him. Lyra is Alpha Rhea. But Alpha Rhea of the Crescent Pack was dead. Chapter Author’s P.O.V Lyra laid in bed, replaying different scenarios of how the war might end up in her bed, again and again. She turned over, shifting to try to find a more comfortable position, but it didn't help. Her body felt tense, her legs restless as she pressed them together beneath the blanket. Her eyes opened, staring into the faint shadows on the canvas above. She turned again, her breathing shallow, her cheeks warm as she tried to push the thoughts away. Thane, lying across the bed, had already fallen into a deep sleep. His breathing was even, his body still except for the faint rise and fall of his chest.

I let out a nervous chuckle, clearing my throat. “Well… something like that. We were hoping you might help us answer some questions about werewolves,” I replied. Professor Kira’s eyebrows shot up, a spark of intrigue glinting in her eyes. “Werewolves, you say? How interesting.” I glanced over at Lyra, signaling that it was her turn. She leaned forward. “I’ve read your book ‘The Creatures beyond us’, and I have to say, you’re a phenomenal writer. I thoroughly enjoyed it,” she complimented, her voice brimming with admiration.

She thanked Principal Salvatore for the talk and left the office, ready to face the next chapter of her life with a renewed sense of understanding and acceptance. As Lyra walked into her room, the weight of the day’s events seemed to press heavily on her shoulders. She needed a release, a way to process everything that had happened. She reached for her diary, a gift she had received some months ago, intended for her private thoughts and as a means to communicate with her deceased sister, Lila. Sitting on her bed, she opened the diary and took a deep breath, hoping that writing might help her clear her mind.
