It was like the man in front of me had changed bodies in mere two seconds of time. Before I could answer, a booming voice rang behind me, “Hope..?” And without turning back, I recognized the voice that had been haunting my memories for more than a decade. I turned back on my slippers to see a heavy, big man with beard hiding half of his face and a black bandana holding the curly locks on his head. His mouth was curved up in a smile so big that I could see each one of his teeth. He looked like Hagrid from the Harry Potter movies, accept for the bandana and the body without any fat.

“Now, what did Jonathan write?” “Let’s see. Scepter equals Excalibur. Sword of Gryffindor rules. Mirror of Erised.” I squinted a little as I read the handwritten note. Isis shifted in my lap, turning to look at me, utterly confused. “I’m not sure I understand that. Why does Jonathan go from talking about Excalibur to Harry Potter? I mean, both are British, and Merlin is in both, though obviously only spoken of in Harry Potter.” Isis’s brow was furrowed as she tried to understand that strange way my friend’s mind works.

The group of men filter behind the grizzly bear in front of us. Gee-gee lets out an over exaggerated laugh. “Oh, I’M SORRY, I must be misunderstanding you. Did you just call your FUTURE QUEEN a mud-blood?” Before he can respond she continues. “What is this? Fucking Harry Potter?” The man sniffs his nose before spitting on the ground in front of me. “She’s no future Queen of mine.” The men behind him yell out their agreement. I take a step closer to the man and give him a sinister smile. “What is your name, sir?” I bat my eyes at him.

Harry chimed in, “That’s not sharing. You’re a whole kidnapper, Alex” I couldn’t help but laugh. Larry and Harry’s energy and upbeat presence made me forget my sour mood from earlier. I wondered if all the members of the wrestling team were always this friendly and lively. “Where was I?” Harry asked and turned his attention to me, “My name is Harry Davenport” We shook hands and he smiled at me. He was very handsome in a childlike kind of way. He was definitely in his twenties but he looked nineteen. “Nice to meet you, Harry”

“What is this?” “Do you watch the series called harry potter?” He asked, and when still don’t get it, he explained, “You know, some fantasy that humans made about us supernaturals.” He then pointed at his little gift, “That character is named Remus Lupin, the werewolf there.” I nodded my head, looking at the little human that transforms into a wolf keychain type. “And? What should I do with this?” I asked again. “I hope you’ll keep it.” He trailed off, his tone narrowing but then he cleared his throat, “Are you happy today? Did I somehow convince you that I’m serious?”

But her excitement and conviction made me believe that it was real. "Wait, so there are actually people with magical powers?" I asked, trying to wrap my head around this new information. "Yes, and it's not just limited to humans. There are also fantastic creatures like dragons, unicorns, and even talking paintings," She replied, her eyes sparkling with wonder. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It sounded like a world full of endless possibilities and adventure. "And the best part is, Harry Potter, the famous wizard, goes to Hogwarts too. He's the chosen one, destined to defeat the dark wizard, Lord Voldemort," Renee continued, her voice filled with excitement.

I knew I would have to stay here for a minimum of six months, but I was already looking forward to the day I could buy my little place. It turns out that Derek was an architect.
