FALLING FOR MR FROST
Everything felt wrong, fundamentally so—in a way that I couldn’t even begin to understand.
I always thought that the hole leading to different dimensions was just flat, 2-D and you could get to your destination as soon as you walked in. I didn’t think it’d be this vast and complex. A way that made my human brain want to shut down completely.
And then, suddenly, within the blink of an eye, we were falling.
I screamed the entire way down until we slammed hard into the ground—actual, solid ground—and I sucked in a sharp breath of air so cold it burned my lungs. Snow. We’d landed in snow, the powder so deep it rose past my knees.
