Chapter 46 Madeline drove through the dark, rain-soaked road, her fingers gripping the steering wheel tightly. The wipers moved furiously back and forth, but they did little to clear her blurred vision. The triplets were huddled together in the back seat, their small faces pale with fear. She didn’t dare to stop or even slow down. The thought of Rowan’s voice echoing in her ears pushed her to go faster. Every few seconds, she looked at the rearview mirror, half expecting his car lights to appear behind them.

Dmitri spat out blood in my direction, an act of disrespect. I stood up from the chair and walked closer to him, raising his chin so he could take a look at me. "Unlike your miserable father, I am the biggest Mafia Lord in the entire city. Every single one of my enemies fears me, and they all have the right to do so. I am showing you mercy by exchanging your freedom for that of your sister, you should be thankful." I let go afterward, and with one last look at him, I walked out of the room.

LUCA’S POV I drove back to the cabin like a madman, my heart pounding against my rib cage and my mind blasting with thoughts I can’t handle. Madrid was about to leave, and I couldn’t let her. She was the only one who could help me right now. I sped through the trees, swerving around them, nearly killing myself more than once. I had never driven this fast in my life, not even when I’d needed to be rushed to the hospital.

I ask, but as I’m saying this, Lila screams as four cars come up behind us on our dirt road. “THERE!” Maddie cries out, “Get down!” Gunfire begins, and we all duck down in the truck bed as Ken swerves, trying to miss every bullet. “Maddie, what did you see?” I ask, and she covers her ears ask she shakes. “We need to get off on I-25. We have to go that route,” she shouts to Ken. “Why?” Ryan asks, “That will take us toward more cameras. It’s dangerous, Maddie!”

Before uncle Corbin can even protest, I push him over. “My Mate, so it’s my truck,” I smirk at Uncle Corbin, who is trying not to laugh. Jacob, Simon, and a handful of other warriors crawl into the truck bed and I slide it into drive. The engine surges to life as I whip down the drive with a grin so big my cheeks might break. “Calm down Mad Max! Save some of the crazy for the fight,” Jacob laughs as he bends down, looking in through the open back window.

She step on the pedal and speed up her car, avoiding the enemies' vehicles that wanted to collide with her car. She felt like driving on a zigzag road even though the highway is plain vertical. Mischa evades the dangerous attempt of Narco's clones to bump into her car. Their boisterous laughter echoes in the air like they are playing deadly drag racing on the public road. 'They are out of their minds!' Mischa hissed in her mind while keep glancing at the side mirror of the car. They are really puppets who were permitted to kill themselves in a fun way.

My heart hammered violently as I rushed toward the designated side road where Maddison had promised to wait. Sure enough, headlights flashed once from the darkness. I yanked open the passenger door and climbed in immediately. "Drive." Maddison wasted no time. The car sped off before I even shut the door properly. "You’re insane," Maddison snapped instantly, his grip tight on the wheel. "Do you have any idea what happens if this goes wrong?" "It’s already wrong.... I don't have time to waste on thinking right now." I tore off parts of my tactical gear as quickly as possible, replacing them with the spare dark clothes Maddison had brought.

I turn around and shoot a pissed look at Max, and he takes the clue that I am not at all interested in having a chat with him. The drive is long as the address that Max has found out is on the other side of the city. I speed the car so that I can reach there as soon as possible. I am so infuriated right now that I don't even have a grasp of how fast I am going. I am going to fucking kill the man who is behind this. "Slow down or you are going to kill us, Chris!!" Max shouts, looking petrified. "Shut the fuck up, Max, and let me drive." I bark violently.

“I’ll be there in an instant.” “Let’s go, guys; we have no time to waste.” She called out to us. "Maddy, are you sure this guy has useful information?” I wanted to be sure we weren’t wasting our time. “How are we going to know that if we don't go there, let’s go!” ***””** Madison’s POV Tyler cleared the bill and we all walked to the car. He drove like he was competing in a Formula One race. We were all panicking; it was evident from the look on our faces that we were all worried.
