While I really pushed like hell and in one swift motion, I went past Alex. "YOU DID IT! YOU DID IT, LARSEN. JUST A FEW MORE SECONDS. YOU ARE IN FIRST PLACE." He screamed in my ear. The adrenaline rush that I get whenever I drive, it was giving me so much pleasure at the moment that I could not think of anything else. "Easy on my eardrums, Max."

I yell at him, and I don't know if it's just the pressure to make sure things don't go south with me just looking or it's just the urgency I feel to help. “This is a terrible mistake we are making. I must say the man is audacious too. He also is very good at driving this vehicle. I feel good that he's the one I'm having to work with because he makes the whole process easier to achieve with his driving skills. We get to where Max and his men are, amidst the bullets that are still being shot at random.

Maddox' POV: My body was mad with rage as I drove in the car. A voice in my head kept beckoning for me to slow down, but all I could focus on at the point was to have my revenge on Kian by all means. After everything I had put in place just to have Lessia back, he ruined it all. I was beyond enraged. I was sweating profusely despite the air condition that was turned on in the car. And those rogues, those bastards, those idiots. I had paid a huge sum if money, just to have them mess up my plans. They were lucky aKian and his soldiers killed them, I would have had my men torture them until they begged for death.

The Audi continued to swerve left and right as pure vigor churned in Frank's meridian nexus, even with Madfist putting both hands on the steering wheel. If it were anyone else in the driver's seat, the Audi would have crashed into a guard rail already. "Shit! Don't you know how to drive?!" a middle-aged man in a BMW bellowed as he moved up alongside Madfist's Audi. "Exactly!" The woman who dressed flamboyantly and sat beside the middle-aged man was snapping at Madfist too. "Don't drive if you don't know how to drive! And you're so old… What, is this a circus trick or something?!"

No hesitation—Pedro bolted out the door. Using the address and company details from the file, he jumped in a cab and headed straight for the medical firm he'd funded. *** Midnight. The building was dead silent. Pedro walked straight in. Every step hit like a jolt to the chest. His nerves felt fried—like boiling oil was cooking him from the inside. The elevator hit the top floor. He didn't wait. Bolted out. The lab was a mess of papers—typical startup chaos. Barely any samples around.

Maddox had been in one hellacious mood since he'd married Vivienne. Maddox had taken to working later than normal and then coming in earlier. If he didn't slow down, he was going to crash, and then I would have to deal with the company on top of what my uncle wanted. I just couldn't understand why my uncle had beef with a mobster in LA. Reaching my vehicle, I opened my door and slid into the leather seat of my midnight-black Rolls-Royce Wraith, bringing it to life. As I put the car in gear, it purred, and I peeled off the curb. I had to make sure I didn't stand out in this part of town. For as many mobsters as there were here, they all drove expensive cars, other than the redhead.

He didn’t slow down, didn’t pause, just kept driving lower with single-minded focus. When he finally dropped to his knees, the desire and lust in him were raw. The thought of tasting her, of staking his claim, drove him to madness.

She slides into her seat and I can't help but lean closer without her knowing to inhale a deeper breath. She turns, a smile pulling at the corner of her mouth. Nervous I was caught just sniffing her like a fucking tool, I smirk and shut the door. That never happened. *** Rae "How long is the drive?" I ask, propping my feet on the dash. Max sighs, getting comfortable in his seat. He's got one hand dangled over the steering wheel, and the other hand rubbing at his chin in the sexiest way a man can. "About an hour, do you need to pee?" He glances my way before looking back at the road.

Sudden, dense fog started rolling in from the base of the driver’s feet, surrounding him until it completely concealed from view. “Are you running away? I can’t believe you’re running away!” Stryxx growled. He turned to go help Rei, thinking the driver was gone. “Where do you think you’re going? I didn’t run away, young wolf, I never run.” The driver emerged from the fog, not as the hooded figure, but as a wolf clearly from his father’s generation.
