I rushed outside, Mia right behind me. "Ace!" I cried, throwing my arms around him. He hugged me tightly, then crouched down to Mia’s level. "We did it, Mia. We found The Jackal." "Is he gone?" Mia asked, her eyes wide. "Yes, sweetie," Ace said, a weary smile on his face. "He won’t be bothering us anymore." I looked into his eyes, seeing the exhaustion and relief.
