THE REFLECTION GAME

THE REFLECTION GAME

Her voice trailed off, but the implication hung heavy in the air. Margaret’s gaze sharpened as she took the book. She ran her fingers over the cover, her lips pressing into a thin line. “This is no ordinary book,” she said quietly, her words laced with certainty. --- Explaining the Truth “What do you mean, not ordinary?” Ryan’s father, Michael, asked, his skepticism evident. Margaret looked up, her gaze piercing. “This book is a gateway, a connection to another realm—a spiritual realm. It doesn’t just tell a story; it pulls you into it. Your children aren’t just unconscious; their souls are trapped, fighting in a place between life and death.”

FATED TO A TYRANT

FATED TO A TYRANT

She also started marching all over the perimeter of the room as she lost herself in her monologue. “Yes, werewolves are magical. You possess a different kind of magic from ours. From your ability to shift at will, up until your ability to share mental links with one another. The practice of the Ascension Rite is a magical ritual in and by itself. Then there is the existence of fated mates, as well as the curse of the Blood Moon. Even your words hold power. You can break bonds with mates through a disavowment oath, and you can forge magically binding connections within your pack with a pledge. Your kind has an ancient magic that stemmed from the blessing of the moon goddess-”

Jade: The Hybrid Mage

Jade: The Hybrid Mage

The monsters fell, one by one, until only their shattered forms remained. The image of the girl returned, her body broken but her spirit unyielding. "She became the first High Priestess," the voice concluded. "And in her memory, the Great Gods ascended to heavens unknown, leaving their divine energy to humanity, promising to return in humanity’s darkest hour." The vision faded, and I was back in the chamber. My heart felt heavy, the weight of the story pressing down on me. "Do you understand the story?" the mage asked, his gaze sharp.

Ascend or Be Consumed

Ascend or Be Consumed

Even though I could sense and hear anything from steps away, I didn't realize I had company until a presence loomed behind me. When I finally turned, I found myself staring into the instructor’s widened eyes. “You… you did that?” Feline stammered, his voice tight with disbelief. “Impossible.” Murmurs rippled through the class as students pressed closer, craning their necks to see what I had drawn. Artifact Studies was the only class that we had with Ascendant. It was all about understanding magical weapons, enchanted relics, and objects tied to emotion or fire. I’d come to learn that ASCENDANT are Initiates who have shown real skill. They’re now on the path of cultivation and they’ve done we

Star-Crossed Wolves: Silver Moon Rising

Star-Crossed Wolves: Silver Moon Rising

POV: Multiple (Convergence) Ronan's voice cut through the chaos: "Lady Macbeth is performing a ritual! Transformation center basement! She's got hostages!" Vincent Capulet responded: "We can't break through King Alexander's lines to reach her!" Marcus Montague: "Then we make a new path. Montague and Capulet forces, wedge formation! Drive straight through their center!" Prospero: "The ritual she's performing. I know what it is. It's the full ascension working. If she completes it, she'll be unstoppable." Morgana: "How long until completion?" Prospero: "Minutes. Maybe less."

The Alpha’s Girl

The Alpha’s Girl

Miles later, under a tree split in half by lightning years ago, I finally stopped. My hands shook as I opened the book, i flipped the pages fast. The letters seemed to shift when I stared too long, like they were alive. Near the middle, I found what I’d been searching for: “Ascension of the Apex.” The words promised power bigger than any wolf, bigger than any man. The power to become the thing that made hunters afraid. Beneath that, in small red letters, was a warning but I didn’t fucking care. Then I saw Dad’s face, his eyes going empty, his hand slipping from mine, his last whisper: “Live, Lucas.”

I’m enjoying this book, has some unexpected twists I did not see coming. But there are some inconsistencies in the storyline. The main villain was said to be stuck in his wolf form and could not change back to human form, but then in later chapters he’s fighting the male lead in human form?

His Midnight Luna

His Midnight Luna

“I heard of this book as a kid. It's called the book of forbidden spells. Only to be used when one is in dire danger and needs urgent saving.” She stopped at a page and placed it before me. “That is it. Can you even read it?” The page before me seemed like gibberish, rubbish that I could read. When I shook my head at Magma, she sighed and then leaned forward. “Oops, you have to take that off. I forgot. There is no way you can do magic with it on you. That means you'll dispel energy and your scent. Are you willing to risk being found?* I didn't even need to think about it. That was exactly what I wanted.

The Crescent Heir

The Crescent Heir

Everything she'd ever heard as myth, as legend, as bedtime stories told to frighten and fascinate — it was real, all of it, standing right in front of her with a cup of seven-hundred-thousand-dollar wine. "But," Jebediah said, his tone dropping half a note — slower, more careful, "it came with something. Something anyone outside this family would call... strange." Anna leaned in slightly. "How so?" "The Ascension Rite was never carried out." She frowned. "The Ascension Rite?"

Alpha Nemesis

Alpha Jones said bluntly. "Actually, it isn't sickness. But you will be very weak, to eat might be hard" the Mage added to the mystery. "Weak? What will you do to me?" she groaned "This isn't about what we will do to you. It is what will happen to you after the consummation" the Mage walked right into her front. "Prina will start her own ascension within you. She will become a Luna, stronger, faster and more intelligent" he smiled awkwardly.

, she started and looked up as Rinzen flailed. “Wait”, Rinzen raised his hand, “High King?” he asked confused. “Ah”, Marcia nodded, “There are three types of Ascendant Magicks. One a Supreme Being”, she started, “They’re connected through the void of different worlds, creatures that have existed in the world but at different time periods. Creatures of old, almost forgotten”, she explained, “Dragons, Griffins, Unicorns, Hydra, Pegasus, and Phoenix”, she explained, “The second type are Light, Aether and Darkness and connect us with realms outside of Earth’s Time. Also known as Heaven and Hell –”
