What Hell May Come

What Hell May Come

Not that Jon had anything to say to her. The day had been taken up by this seemingly fruitless search, until in the dingiest part of the store, in a crumbling red book published in 1900, he found the name. The Book of Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage was filled with weird double-talk, esoteric terms, confusing graphics, and yawn-inducing florid language, but the name was there—as was his invocation.

Magisch Academy: The Heartless Princess

Magisch Academy: The Heartless Princess

There will be a man that will fetch you tomorrow for you to be able to go here. ~HeadMistress Rei' I immediately folded the paper after reading what’s inside of it. Magisch Academy huh? What a weird name? Should I accept it or not? What if it’s a scam? Or a trap from my enemies? But do I have a choice? I no longer have a school to go to and I especially do not want to stop studying.

The Twilight and The Dawn

The Twilight and The Dawn

“Well, that’s great. Because of me, because of the event that I organized for you she got the chance to finally see you.” “Ohh damn! Where’s your brain?! You’re not getting my point here!” “Why not?! You know, you’re the one who’s confused here.” Magus is literally losing his patience with Dawn; he thinks that maybe he needs Dustine back and brings back Dawn wherever she comes. Dustine is easy to handle, and deal with since he’s afraid of him but the woman in front of him have a lot of gut and he can’t sense that she’s afraid of him, well, if his fangs are not showed she isn’t afraid but once it appears there goes the afraid Dawn.

The Magical World of Maddie

The Magical World of Maddie

There where now books with titles such as The Witch Within You, Herbs and Pentagrams, Spells and the Sabbaths, True Magic in the World. Maddie had never noticed that there were so many books on that subject. She was shocked when Omem suddenly stood in front of her. ‘Are you coming, child? Lunch is ready.’ Maddie nodded and left the library.

The Pack's Girl

The Pack's Girl

Vibrant green eyes landed on me and Hunter next to me. He smelled human. My eyes narrowed on him. Why is Magus out here secretly meeting with humans? I suddenly wondered if Hunter and I were the ones really betraying the Alpha. “Who is he?” I asked Magus. Magus gave me a sharp look. “An old friend.” “The mentor?” “One of them.” Magus was walking away to meet him. “Who is he?” “Hawk, Second Commander of the Mages.” Magus shouted as he jogged to meet him. Ignoring me.

I haven’t finished this story yet. So good so far! BUT is the Writer going to finish? Status is Ongoing at 97 chapters, chapter count hasn’t been updated in a while and Writer says the update twice weekly. All their stories are in Ongoing Status. Not reading more until I know. 6.2022 - bookmark

The Beta's Daughter

The Beta's Daughter

“I feel like a lot of good stuff is coming up. The welcoming ceremony, the Flock of the Eagles, and I mean, I guess at some point you and I will take over as Alpha and Luna.” “I guess we will,” he smiled. “So,” I asked, sliding a handful of nachos onto my plate, “what did you find in the library?” “It’s like – like a journal. Mustapha and I read through it today. It’s… I won’t lie to you, Ari, it’s dark. Full of tales of old dark magick, of using lycanthropes to weave spells and potions to further the powers of the non-magical. A lot of it was nonsensical, ramblings about folklore and experimentation that went wrong. But it was clear on one thing – incredibly so.”

@Joyce Smith - Hi, I've been replying to your reviews but I'm not sure if you've read any of my responses? I'm afraid the book is ongoing as I write, edit, and proofread one-two chapters per day. It is currently unfinished, otherwise I would of course upload it all. Thanks for supporting my work.

Surrogate of the Sleeping Dragon

Surrogate of the Sleeping Dragon

"These look nothing like the books available in Kieran's library." Seraphina looked at me and scoffed out loud, "No offense dragon prince, but these mage books are the real deal. We will have Ember turning into a fine representation of fire mage magic. These books helped me when I was studying to be a fire mage." I gave Ember and Seraphina a sheepish look, "Looks like I need to look over my collection with a fine toothed comb then." Seraphina laughed at my words and pushed the books toward Ember, "Here take these. They will help. I promise."

Zeda And The Four Princes Of Shadowbrook Academy

Zeda And The Four Princes Of Shadowbrook Academy

Maybe being the talk of the academy had a tiny good side after all. Even if the bad side overshadowed it, having someone openly declare their support felt genuinely nice. She walked to her next class with a small, happy smile. The smile vanished when she returned home after her final lecture and dropped onto the bed to begin reading one of the books Adrian had left her. The title was simply Mages. Her curiosity was certainly piqued—she was desperate to learn everything about her genus. She couldn’t get past the first ten pages, though. It was a dense history of the first mages, the ancient political blah-blah-blah, and before long, her eyelids were fighting a losing battle.

Bloodbound: Heart Of The Witch

Noticing what she was looking, her dad smiled. "That is the symbol for alchemy in magick. This book is called Bnane's Book of Potions." Her dad said as he kept patting it as if the book was a little child or a favorite pet. "And only people with magick can open this book. All the special books can only be opened by the magick in our blood. Other normal books, about magick, about wiccan culture and symbols, now anyone can open it."

A Dragons Heart

A Dragons Heart

After a minute, a man opened the door, "Yes? How can I help you?" "Hi, I was wondering if it's allowed for someone to look at your magic books?" The man looked at me confused, "Well, to start, that information is only for guild members, and secondly, why does a young girl like you want to see that kind of information?" "I'm curious about the kind of magic you have." "I'm afraid that you wouldn't understand it even if I showed you. Only a mage would understand the spells recorded in our books." "But, I am a mage."

Frequently Asked Questions

I totally get the urge to dive into 'The Magus'—it's one of those books that lingers in your mind long after you finish it. But finding free online copies can be tricky, especially since it's still under copyright. I'd recommend checking out your local library's digital lending service, like Libby or OverDrive. They often have e-book versions you can borrow legally. Some libraries even partner with Hoopla, which might have it. If you're into audiobooks, Scribd occasionally offers free trials where you could listen to it. Just be cautious of shady sites promising free downloads; they often violate copyright laws or are riddled with malware.

Another angle is exploring secondhand bookstores or online marketplaces like AbeBooks for cheap physical copies. Sometimes, older editions pop up for a few bucks. If you're patient, you might even snag a copy at a library book sale. I once found a pristine vintage paperback of 'The Magus' at a thrift store for $2—it felt like fate! While it’s tempting to seek instant gratification online, the hunt for a physical copy can be part of the fun. Plus, holding that weathered book in your hands adds to the mystique of Fowles' labyrinthine story.
