"My daughter couldn't attend because her child has been sick. She's home taking care of him. That's all there is to it. " Maggie tilted her head, her tone dripping with false sympathy. "That's not true. She's not home with a sick child. She's missing. " The word hit like a slap. Murmurs rippled across the room as people turned toward each other, alarm spreading fast. Missing ? That wasn't gossip. That was a bombshell. Seeing that no one, not even Cecilia or Sebastian, spoke up to deny it and that both the Lawson and Black families stayed silent, Maggie took the chance to push further.

Our eyes meet, and a smile spreads across her face. Maggie was the best part of visiting Liam’s parents each week. I spent a lot of time talking with her after dinner while she cleaned the kitchen. Liam and his parents were too busy being up each other’s asses to know I had left the room. Spending time with Maggie and hearing about her daughter in high school was far more interesting than listening to the Aster family drone on about politics.

In the United States, Maggie was born in her room at the nursing home, which was an Atlantic Ocean away from Alice. It was a lovely sunny day, but she could only lean against the window, tweeting and eating snacks. There was no big news that day, just posts from a few actors wishing everyone a happy New Year. So she was bored as hell. Then Trevor sent her a picture of a dessert counter and asked, “Do you like this? I will buy you some, honey.”

Maggie called from the dining room. I led the women into the small dining area, each step heavier than the last. I knew Maggie would be understanding, my mate had returned to me, but it didn’t ease the guilt consuming my thoughts. Maggie pressed on, acting as a generous hostess, placing plates loaded down with hash browns, pancakes, and sausages before us before taking her own seat. “You must be Lucas’s mate.” She smiled, turning to Selene. “I’m thrilled to finally meet you. He must be definitely up to something and she wasn’t going to lose guard of her children. After her shift, she took a shower and sat comfortably on the couch, engrossed in an article she was reading on her tablet. Suddenly, the front door swung open, and the sound of excited chatter echoed through the hallway. Maggie looked up and smiled as her twins, Luke and Leah, burst into the room. They had just arrived home after the school bus dropped them off.

“Is it the man I last saw lying all bloodied up in the grass?” Although grateful for her presence, Tara found herself speechless. Maggie had moved home that afternoon and she hadn’t heard her return. “I heard ya speaking so I thought I’d check to see who the company was,” Maggie continued. “I’m not intruding, am I?” Brandon flinched under the jolt of Maggie’s handshake. He smiled weakly while politely stating his pleasure in finding her there. Neither Tara nor Maggie was certain he meant it.

Maggie asked headed for the door. She opened it and was shocked to see two old women in an ancient apparel. "Sharon we got some grand mummies here." Maggie said. One of the women snapped her finger and a force threw Maggie away causing her to crash on the table scattering it to pieces. "What do i have with you women?" Maggie said staggering to her feet. The other woman clinched her fist and Maggie couldn't breath as she felt an invisible hand choking her. She Dropped to her knees coughing out blood.

She muttered and continue walking,she took the stairs "Wow,how can a house be this big?" She muttered,still looking around. She finally saw another maid "Hi" She said "Oh,hello. I'm Maggie,are you new here?" The maid asked with a smile "Yeah,Annabella" Annabella said "So,where are you going?" Maggie asked "The kids room" Annabella replied "The fifth door" Maggie smiled "Thank you" Annabella immediately said and turned,when she got to the fifth room door,she stopped and groaned

She had a strong feeling that the person outside the door was not well-intentioned at all! She couldn't open this door no matter what! "I-I haven't bought anything online recently. Are you sure you got the right place? Why don't you try another house?" Bam! Something heavy slammed against the door. Maggie jolted and trembled in fear. She clasped her mouth tightly and frantically took several steps back. Bam! Bam! The door began shaking in its frame as if ready to shatter at any moment. When Maggie was about to call the police, a tall, dark figure broke into the house.
