Madie asked as her eyes looked around the spacious living room. It was smaller compared to the mansion that was their home. Maybe because this was only for a small family, and that big mansion was for their big family. Big family including her Daddy's suited friends and the maids that were her friends. She wondered why they went here instead of their big house.

I took a deep breath and released it slowly. "Do you know someone who works at the entertainment club?" I asked. I saw she was lost for a second and it seemed her body got tense. She shook her head. "No..." she shortly replied. She reached for a glass of water and drank it straight. She looked really tense. "There is someone who works at the entertainment club who lives in your village," I opened up and started eating again. "Do you know someone named Magda? She's a good friend of mine," I asked and glanced in her direction.

We went to the next house and found the same problem. We went through a couple more houses and it was getting close to lunchtime so we opted to look at one more house. Upon arrival, I could already sense a change of mood in Alex. The house was a nice bungalow as well and it was spacious. It was quite bigger than the last bungalows we looked at. The front yard was spacious, we had our own driveway, and the backyard was a good size for the dogs. We toured the inside and everything was in pristine condition. I noticed that Alex was more attentive to this house than the others so I decided to approach him.

She stares at his door, thinking as she realized something, I don’t remember what he said his name was. Maggie took a quick shower after breakfast and dressed in her uniform, tight jeans, and her red uniform shirt. Her light yellow hair was tied up in a tight bun, and then she put on her cap. She put on a sweater and, looking at her neighbor’s door, standing in front of her, thought about knocking on her door. But something stopped her from doing so Maggie just walked down the hall. When she got to the elevator, she calmly stood inside, thinking about her neighbor and the rumors she had heard about him.

“Oomph!” Jet smiled and grabbed her arms to steady her. “Honestly, you’re cleaning my room?” Maggie fought hard to look and act casual, despite the hot hands on her skin. “Yeah! What did you think a housekeeper would be doing?” She tried to sound confident. Yeah, just like the little chick boldly sashaying across the yard while about to be Hawk Lunch! She needed to rely on her smart-ass mouth to stay alive here. Maggie gazed everywhere but at him. “But, there isn’t much to clean here. Who knew that under that Stetson you have a clean shaven head and are actually the REAL Mister Clean?”

“Well, if you want, you can come with me. I need to buy some things for my apartment and some food. I would love the company. I’m going, to be honest, I haven’t really had a friend in a long time, and it feels like I can trust you.” Maggie gives me a smile that's like the sun and nods her head furiously letting me know she wants to come. We left the house, riding to the human district using an old pickup truck. Westridge was foggy, nothing unusual. People walked past us, no one noticing anything strange. But when someone bumped into Maggie, her aura was back, her stomach glowing faintly.

Felix helped Maggie into her car and I followed him in the truck. Maggie had been coherent enough to give him her address and I looked at the single story house in the quiet neighbourhood. Felix rummaged in her handbag for her keys while I picked Chloe up. Upstairs were two bedrooms and I put Chloe down on the bed in the plain room. The other one was obviously Maggie’s room.
