But as soon as Lydia appeared, her world fell apart. Maggie tossed her hair, feeling miserable, but she wouldn't let Lydia have such a smooth life! "Lydia, come out!" Maggie stood at the studio's entrance shouting loudly. The receptionist quickly approached, politely asking, "Miss, whom are you looking for? Do you have an appointment?" Maggie snorted coldly and retorted to the receptionist, "Who are you? Where's Lydia? Get her out!" The receptionist, feeling embarrassed, promptly called Lydia. However, Maggie didn't wait quietly; instead, she continued to shout insults.

Mike exclaimed before turning to me, “I am seeing things, right? Julian, you can tell me.” Maggie stood up with an excited smile on her face, “I am here, Mike. Long time, no see. I’ve missed you.” “I just heard her voice…” Mike muttered in denial. He sounded unable to believe that Maggie had just appeared. “She is here,” I helped him confirm. “Maggie is here in real life.”

Ofcourse she thought of going to Rory’s house for company but if she were to be found out to be with him her father would probably disown her. She tried keeping calm and tried focusing on house chores and reading a good book, but at the moment when she would forget everything and start to enjoy what she was doing the image of her sister's corpse would appear in her mind and perturb her again. Maggie was not the superstitious type but the events of the last days really got her and it got significantly worse when she looked out the window again and saw nothing more than a dark thick fog, she deduced that it must have expanded to the entire town.

"Maggie, what do you mean?" She hesitated, her fingers digging into her sleeves, eyes darting towards the shadows stretching across the walls. "Since last night, I’ve been hearing things." Her voice was barely above a whisper. "Through the walls. Strange noises, like—like the house itself is crying." She swallowed hard, her throat bobbing with the effort. "I don’t know what’s wrong, but it’s getting worse."

At precisely 10:00 Saturday morning, Maggie heard the buzzer for the front door as she was sliding into her dark blue boot-cut jeans. Right on time. "Come on up," she said into the intercom as she buzzed Bobby in. "I'm almost ready." She crossed to open the apartment door and returned to the bedroom to pull on the pale purple cami and grab her long eggplant cardigan.

Maggie wondered. "Yes, my lady." Karon nodded from the front seat. "It looks like there's no one in the house." She leaned toward the window. "We'll wait here until someone arrives." "Yes, ma'am." Karon nodded again. Mrs. Maggie is nervous but more excited at the thought of meeting her youngest child after so long apart. If she asked Vivian to let her meet Hodja, her daughter would definitely never agree. Mrs. Maggie can only pray that Hodja won't be as hostile to her as Vivian is. That child always has a soft and warm heart.

She was startled for less than a second, but then the alarm system went off, and the deafening whistling started. Jack abruptly stood up, held Maggie by her shoulders, and said loudly, trying to outspeak the alarm system: "Go to the nursery, lock yourself and call the police. Now!"
