Hannah snapped.
Despite her tone, Aurora chose to let it slide. She told herself Hannah was only taking out the stress of her long day on her.
So Aurora waited.
She waited until the office closed and security personnel asked her to leave the building.
“Pfft! I should have known better,” she muttered under her breath, swallowing hard as the movement visibly traveled down her throat.
Now, Aurora walked along the road for hours, and it was already past midnight. Only a few cars and scattered pedestrians moved through the quiet streets. Her eyes scanned the buildings around her, from brightly lit storefronts to towering glass offices and closed boutiques, hoping to spot something familiar.
