Not because of how it looked, but because he made it for me.
“Thank you,” I whispered, turning the bangle slowly around my wrist like it was spun from gold.
But then a darker thought crept in.
“I saw them tie ropes around your wrists,” I said cautiously, my eyes falling to his hands.
Zevarion raised his arm, revealing the rope around his wrist.
“Oh, this?” He gave a small, dismissive shrug. “It’s enchanted. We can’t get rid of it. Even when you cut it, it binds itself back together. Like it has a mind of its own.”
