I shook my head, “No, let me rephrase that, how can a pendant do anything?” “Well,” Her face turned serious, “It’s a magical pendant, and as long as she wears it the magic will remain.” I stared at her for a few seconds, “What?” I blinked at her in confusion. Magic? Magic?! So magic exists too? I backed away a little and frowned. Well, if wolves exist, and lycans exist, so I guess magic can too… “Jenny?” Portia waved her hand in front of me. “Alright,” I nodded after I accepted that, “What does it do?”

Just as he was about to head home, Summer arrived in her gown, pouting. "Why did you leave without saying goodbye? It's my birthday. I'll be laughed at." As she spoke, she showed him her swollen ankles. "It hurts..." Cade was feeling impatient and, for the first time, ignored her dramatic complaints. "Your sister is missing. I need to look for her." After saying that, he got into the car without looking back, ignoring Summer's shouts behind him. What he didn't see was Summer's venomous, resentful gaze. Cade hurried home, but was surprised to find that all of Jodi's belongings had disappeared.
