You worship the moon or something and now it is in the proper cycle for the end of days or something?” Says Amaris sarcastically. Suddenly her woozy spell was gone and she was wondering why she had even gotten into Mr. Bruce’s car in the first place. As Amaris finished speaking red and blue lights light up the far wall of the kitchen. They were coming in from the window next to the side door.

I said with a plead in my voice. "I will my dear. I will make use of my magic to take away his bad mood." I looked at my mum with a confused look on my face. "Magic? What magic?" My mum smiled and rolled her eyes. "My feminine wiles and charm of course. Trust me, your dad will be in the best frame of mind in no time." I giggled at mum's joke. She was the best. "Thanks mum." "Anytime dear. Please eat up and read. You can nap when you get tired."

"The tension. The eye contact. The drama." "You love attention," I correct. She beams. "Same thing." Lizzie smooths invisible wrinkles from her dress. "Do you think anyone's going to notice I'm not fully wolf?" "Half-witch is mysterious," Tara says firmly. "Half-witch is confusing." "Only to boring people." I stare out the window while the forest slides past outside. The moon is full tonight. Huge. Bright. June stirs restlessly. We don't like this. Neither do I.

This man loves me. "I have no clue what you just said," The man admits, and then his face seems to grow sad. One could drown in the water gathering in the corner of his eyes. "Our time is limited, but we will meet again once you turn eighteen." He smiles briefly. "Come and find me in the magical realm." His voice sends a flutter through my entire body, and then he leans in to kiss me. It feels like magic—the mate-bond is buzzing in the surrounding atmosphere.

I don’t want a situation when I’ll mistakenly freeze someone or something in front of others and I won’t be able to unfreeze them. My mood turned sour when I remembered I still needed to learn magic. Is this a sort of joke the moon goddess is playing on me? Oh come on!

“As long as I live, I’ll never get used to this.” Magenta laughed. “Oh yes, you will.” She looked up at the spoon. “Two, please.” Then she glanced back over at me as the spoon added sugar and stirred her tea. “Before you know it, magic will become an extension of yourself. Just something that you can do… like breathing.” She arched an eyebrow, tilting her head to the side. “Speaking of which, we need to set up regular appointments for your training.” “Sounds good.” I took a sip of my tea, and it tasted like roses and rosemary with a touch of cinnamon. “Umm... this is delicious!”

Even the shadows shifted, moving to frame them, as if the entire forest were giving its blessing. Aria, unable to contain herself, shouted, “It’s working! The magic is responding!” Arianna, notebook in hand, scribbled furiously. “Observation: Emotional resonance directly affecting ambient magical energy. Patterns amplified exponentially.” Arian, adjusting his compass with serious intensity, muttered, “Chaos index rising. Uncontrolled variables—” Cassian, sprawled dramatically against a log, whispered under his breath, “…I can’t. Emotionally overwhelmed. Also possibly crying. Beautiful. Terrifying. Happy. I am a mess.”
