It was like an aura surrounding the moon and changing its peaceful and romantic nature into a magical powerful state. The blue rays were cascading on the graves and spilling its supernatural waves of energy on the holy ground of the graves. It filled me with an unexplainable sense of serenity; I closed my eyes and enjoyed the feeling. I felt calm, at ease, all the anxiousness that I felt earlier were now dispersed. It was like swimming peacefully alone in a lake, where the water surrounded my body and drowned me in complete quietness.

"Nice to meet you, ma'am," greeted Bisila, her eyes catching on the fact that she was the lady of the house, which was fortunately correct. "Who is this weirdly dressed girl in our house?" asked Ms. James with an air in her eyes. Ms. James looked like a very elegant, blonde woman who was majestically built. She had very bright blue eyes that commanded attention. She wore a distinguished shade of nail polish, specially stocked for her from London. Her long black hair gave her a distinguished, mischievous appearance, and she always stood tall to confront anything that threatened her luxurious lifestyle.

“Oh, I don’t know…” Margaux let out a tiny snort, like she knew exactly what that shrug meant but wasn’t going to pry. “Well, whatever it is, keep it. You work faster when you’re in a good mood.” She turned back to her sewing. I glanced down at my phone again, at Damien’s dramatic little crying emoji, and for some ridiculous reason, it warmed me. And yes, admittedly, inspired me too. I ended up accomplishing much more than I’d expected.

“So you’re doing this because of the Moonfire?” “Partly,” Hattie answered. “Moonfire isn’t just rare. It nullifies a witch’s power. When Moonfire is present, our spells collapse, as if the threads of our magic unravel in its light. It can dispel illusions, break through wards, even strip power from hexes already laid. Most magic bends or recoils away from it instinctively, like animals from fire. That’s why it is the key to defeating Morgana.”

“If you know how she did the trick, then it isn’t magic anymore.” Madeline leaned back slightly. “That doesn’t mean it was ever magic.” Marc frowned. “Yes, it does.” “No.” “Yes.” Madeline placed one hand against the floor beside her. “Marc.” “What?” “Magic is something supernatural.” Marc considered this, I could see him thinking. Madeline waited. Then Marc shook his head again. “No.” Madeline stared at him. “No?” Marc looked completely certain of himself. “Nothing counts as magic unless it surprises you.”

I didn't have the first clue and a small whine escaped from me as I tried to figure it out. Derek understood my dilemma, "Just relax, take a deep breath, and concentrate hard on being human. The magic should do it automatically." I took a deep breath and tried to picture myself as I looked in the mirror. I put all my will into that thought and concentrated on becoming human. It took me a long moment, but I felt the world begin to melt and shimmer around me. I ended up crouched on the table completely naked.

It was glowing green. “Morning.” He greeted me with a smile. My palms began to sweat. My mom was holding a scroll glowing with a darker green. She was reading something. She muttered a word under her breath and dad stepped out of the way. Mom thrust her hand forward and the blue ball floated and it tried to get out of the grip. Its flame was slowly burning out. My mom screamed an incantation and she fisted her hand. The ball disappeared in a thin smoke. “Morning, dear.” My mom said putting the scroll down. I felt my skin burning. She turned to dad.

She sounded desperate, placing her hand over mine. "There is a magic that can make you look different. They are called glamours. But the spell is only temporary. They can't help you long term." In my own studies, I came across a story or two of supernaturals changing their form. I would look into the possibility, but I didn't want to get her hopes up. "Get to class, and when I have information, I'll let you know," I said, handing her the note. She picked up her backpack and wiped her face as she stood. It was a mess. "Thank you, Miss Croswell."

Candles flared with emotion — blue when she was calm, gold when Adrian was near, violet when the curse felt… jealous. > “We have a problem,” Adrian said one evening. “It’s using you as an emotional barometer. She needs a tool and Maggie is the perfect tool.” Maggie’s eyes widened. “Me? How? Why?”
