It was something alive and moving. To someone ordinary, this would be terrifying. But I was a demon, so I've seen worse things. Hell, I've done worse things! The other two kids laughed and cheered as the slime kept growing and covering half of my body from the waist down. "You are lucky you are cute, little shitheads," I said and smiled. The other two weren't evil but they seemed to be amused by their brother's behavior so they weren't any better in my eyes. I used magic to melt the slime off of me and turned it into a four feet long rope. Time to use his own magic against him.

"We call it Agemia. It's used for easy possession of a body by a witch. Easy targets are people who are hurting, grieving, or going through any sort of emotional trauma." There is black and red slime splattered all over Temica as she turns and smiles at me. "Your mate is free now, Luna."

I watch in awe as the twins radiate a white light that pushes out to the water, and the sludge of blackness turns into a sparkling blue. The animals that had been bobbing on the water were burned to ash where they sat. I wonder if Chloe's magic is similar to her brothers? I've never seen her use it before. But I can't wait to see it. Sunshine screams as the mixture flying through the air strikes her down. I step inside the protection ring. I reach out to make an opening and pull her onto our side to protect her, but before I can pull Sunshine into my magic protection, one of the minions grabs Sunshine. He hits Sunshine one time with the salty-smelling potion, and it penetrates her body.

I didn't have the first clue and a small whine escaped from me as I tried to figure it out. Derek understood my dilemma, "Just relax, take a deep breath, and concentrate hard on being human. The magic should do it automatically." I took a deep breath and tried to picture myself as I looked in the mirror. I put all my will into that thought and concentrated on becoming human. It took me a long moment, but I felt the world begin to melt and shimmer around me. I ended up crouched on the table completely naked.

They had humanoid forms with limbs but were enveloped in disgusting slime. Despite their grotesque appearance, they moved swiftly, wielding various weapons like machetes, spears, steel pipes, and more. They seemingly utilized whatever they could find. As they moved, the slime on their bodies oozed everywhere. It possessed corrosive properties that emitted white smoke upon contact. Additionally, a foul stench permeated the air. Vardala's face turned pale upon seeing the rampant monsters. "What are these things?" He had no idea about these creatures. Adrian looked at the foes and promptly replied, "These things are likely the mysterious enemies Dragon Prince mentioned."

"Don't fret, little Baseline. We won't kill the father yet. He will make a fine thrall once we’ve extracted the prize." A bolt of green fire slammed into the floor at my feet, melting the "congealed moonlight" of the Spire's floor into a sludge of toxic slime. I felt the Hum in my blood recoil, offended by this jagged, wild magic. The witches weren't trying to index the world; they wanted to rot it.
